Kawasaki Motors Malaysia Sdn Bhd (KMSB) bringing this baby Z so fast that we cannot believe it. It is just a month ago released in Thailand. For those who are keeping track, the modern Z series started and shook the motorcycle scene in the Asia with the introduction of Z800 at low price of RM48k, then continued with the appearance of Z250 which features 2-cylinder 250cc engine and lastly make it more affordable by showing the Z250SL at only below RM16k price.
Kawasaki Z125 Pro now ready to rock the road in Malaysia with smaller size and easier to handle Z series. The naked street bike is fitted in the Kawasaki lineup to accomodate urban riders that needs comfortable and nimble bike to fight the traffic. This means that the bike needs to have higher handlebar, low seating and straight up seating position. In Malaysia, we only have the Z125 Pro, which features the manual clutch version. Compared to the Thailand market, they got the Z125 with auto-clutch and also Z125 Pro. Anyway, we are happy to at least get the Pro coming to Malaysia.
The meter is quite different than the Z250SL where it combines the analog RPM and large speedometer display. The Z250SL features all digital display, but this one Z125 Pro works well in my eyes since we always like analog RPM meter, just like race bike ooo.
Z125 Pro is equipped with air-cooled 4-stroke 1-cylinder engine with displacement of 125cc. Bore and stroke is measured at 56.0 x 50.6 mm with compression ratio at 9.8:1. One thing that different than the KSR110 that it replaces is that, this Z125 Pro is fed by fuel injection system. Notice that the starting method is only via the electric start button as there is no more kick-starter available (or you can push it down the hill and released the clutch in second gear, haha).
The belly pan adds up the sharpness style of the bike and makes it fittingly ready as the Z series.
You should also notice that the tail light is in the Z and inverted Z design as a cue to show that this belongs to Z naked street series.
The headlamp follows the design of the Z250SL but much ‘angrier’.
Price for the 2016 Kawasaki Z125 Pro is estimated RM9,900 (basic price excluding 6% GST)
Available in Q1 2016.
