In another potentially collaboration, Triumph Motorcycles and Bajaj are believed to be working on the development of a 250cc scrambler motorcycle.

  • several reliable Indian publications have reported sightings of the Speed 250 and Scrambler 250 models listed on the manufacturer’s website.
  • a 250cc scrambler could expand Triumph’s market reach globally.

Bajaj has been entrusted with the production and development of the Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X models, which were recently launched to great acclaim on June 27, 2023.

By outsourcing production to Bajaj, Triumph aims to make its motorcycles more accessible to a wider range of riders around the globe.

The introduction of the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X motorcycles has significantly lowered the entry barriers to Triumph ownership, as these new models are considerably more affordable than the existing lineup. Prior to their release, the Trident 660 stood as the most affordable Triumph motorcycle.

Although the purported listings of the Speed 250 and Scrambler 250 on Triumph’s website could not be independently verified, the multiple credible sources reporting their presence indicate that these models are either in development or already prepared for an imminent launch.

While it is essential to approach these reports as speculative until officially confirmed by Triumph, the introduction of a 250cc motorcycle series would undoubtedly strengthen the brand’s presence and appeal to a wider audience.

In an exciting announcement, Italian helmet manufacturer AGV has broken its silence on new product releases with the revival of its iconic K3 helmet.

  • The reintroduction of the K3 is set to delight riders looking for a blend of style and performance.
  • The AGV K3 is ECE R22.06 approved.

The revived K3 helmet boasts a fresh facia, incorporating contemporary design elements with a touring-inspired aesthetic. While it retains its sporty appeal, the helmet features contoured lines on the sides and top, giving it a distinctive and eye-catching look.

Notably, the air intakes on the chin bar and the streamlined air inlets on the top bring the K3 closer in appearance to its premium sibling, the K6.

Underneath the revamped exterior, the AGV K3 incorporates technical innovations to enhance its performance. The helmet’s thermoplastic shell is available in three different sizes, allowing for a comfortable and personalized fit.

Additionally, the four-density EPS lining effectively absorbs and disperses impacts, ensuring maximum safety. The contoured sides of the K3 provide extra protection for the collarbone in case of an accident, emphasizing AGV’s commitment to rider safety. Importantly, the AGV K3 is ECE R22.06 approved, meeting the latest safety standards.

AGV has also prioritized comfort and hygiene with the K3 helmet. The detachable and washable interior, made of 2Dry fabric, offers an easy and hygienic experience for riders. Furthermore, the helmet features grooves specifically designed to accommodate eyeglasses, adding to its overall convenience.

Visibility is a key aspect of any helmet, and the AGV K3 excels in this area. Equipped with a clear anti-scratch and anti-fog screen, the helmet provides an impressive 190-degree field of vision. The XQRS system allows for quick and easy screen removal, and micro-openings enhance ventilation during city rides. Moreover, the visor is compatible with the Pinlock 70 anti-fog film, which significantly improves vision in adverse weather conditions. To top it off, the K3 helmet includes a drop-down sun visor, perfect for those sunny rides.

In terms of functionality, the AGV K3 helmet features a chinstrap with a micrometric clasp, offering a secure and adjustable closure. This improvement over the previous double-D ring closure enhances convenience for riders. The addition of a splash guard prevents water or debris from entering through the bottom of the helmet.

Additionally, the AGV K3 is intercom-ready, making it seamlessly compatible with communication systems. Weighing approximately 1,500 grams in size M, the helmet strikes a balance between comfort and safety.

To cater to individual tastes, the AGV K3 is available in a range of fashionable colors, including white, matte black, matte green, red, matte grey, and various graphic options.

The new AGV K3 helmet is priced at EUR239.95 (RM1.2k).

Speculation about the future of MotoGP superstar Marc Marquez continues to swirl, with rumors of retirement and a potential team switch causing a stir among fans.

  • KTM is likely to be the relevant destination for the 8-time World Champion.
  • The Spaniard is rumoured to be unhappy at Honda.

While details remain scarce, a recent social media post from tennis legend Rafael Nadal has added fuel to the fire and hinted at Marquez’s possible departure from Honda.

Nadal, a close friend of Marquez and a beloved personality in Spain, posted a photo of the two icons together, accompanied by a caption that raised eyebrows. He wrote, “Visits [views] that make you very excited. Thanks @marcmarquez93 for coming to meet the Rafa Nadal Academy By Movistar. We see each other soon and good luck on your new challenges.”

The phrase “new challenges” has sparked speculation about Marquez’s next move within MotoGP or potentially outside the premier class. While Marquez is currently contracted with the Repsol Honda MotoGP team for another year, his future beyond 2023 remains uncertain.

Alberto Puig, Honda’s team boss, has expressed a willingness to respect Marquez’s wishes, stating that he wouldn’t want to keep the rider against his will. Puig understands that an unhappy rider rarely performs at their best, as demonstrated by previous cases like Lorenzo and Rossi at Ducati, and Maverick Vinales at the end of his Yamaha contract. However, Honda is unlikely to release Marquez without significant compensation.

Should Marquez and Honda part ways before his contract expires, KTM emerges as a potential destination. KTM has been performing exceptionally well in MotoGP and is the only team capable of challenging the dominant Ducatis. Nevertheless, KTM would have to pay a hefty sum to secure Marquez’s services, considering the existing contracts of their current riders, Brad Binder and Jack Miller, which extend until the end of 2024.

Several spy shots of two BMW R 1300 GS motorcycles cruising on public roads already made it’s way online.

  • These bikes boasted numerous similar features, with one flaunting additional accessories like a robust engine guard.
  • Notably, the presence of adaptive radar, which had been speculated, was finally confirmed through these compelling photographs.

While a picture can convey a lot, it fails to capture the true essence of sound. Just as you can’t imagine the call of a bird by looking at its picture, motorcycles also need to be heard to be fully experienced.

Naturally, prospective riders are curious about the auditory character of a bike. Does it emit a resonant and satisfying rumble? Or perhaps a peculiar high-pitched burble? Does it exhibit valve chatter, indicating potential engine troubles? Although the latter concern usually applies to used bikes, the significance of sound in shaping one’s perception of a motorcycle cannot be underestimated.

To cater to the curiosity of the global motorcycling community, the esteemed team at 1000ps, an Austrian moto publication, has shared an enticing video showcasing the upcoming BMW R 1300 GS.

This video provides an immersive audio experience, allowing you to hear the distinctive sound of the motorcycle. We recommend using high-quality headphones to truly appreciate it.

With each passing day, the puzzle pieces are falling into place, giving us a clearer picture of what to anticipate from the forthcoming BMW R 1300 GS when it finally hits the global stage.

In a separate development, BMW recently celebrated a significant milestone, as the one millionth GS motorcycle equipped with a boxer engine rolled off the assembly line in Munich in late June 2023. Coinciding with this celebration, the OEM proudly announced that the worldwide premiere of the highly anticipated R 1300 GS is scheduled for September 28, 2023.

Leading wireless communication systems provider, Cardo Systems, has unveiled a groundbreaking software update that allows seamless connectivity between their Bluetooth units and non-Cardo devices.

  • The company’s commitment to industry-wide Bluetooth standardization and bringing riders together has resulted in this game-changing innovation.
  • The new update was boosted by the introduction of Cardo’s Open Bluetooth Intercom.

The development of this software update was inspired by the launch of Open Bluetooth Intercom (OBi), prompting Cardo Systems to commission an independent international study. The study revealed that consumers desired a simple and intuitive process to communicate with fellow riders who use different communicator brands.

Despite Cardo Systems already offering cross-brand connectivity through the OBi standard and championing its leading Mesh technology, the company’s developers rose to the challenge of expanding compatibility with even more brands.

Dan Emodi, Chief Marketing Officer at Cardo Systems, emphasized the importance of customer feedback in driving this update.

“In a recent survey conducted with motorcycle communicator users across the globe, intercom connectivity with other brands was one of the most popular suggestions to improve their communication experience.

“With this update, we’re able to offer more independence for our users and friends using devices from other major brands, providing greater choice, freedom, and flexibility,” he said.

The software update, available via a simple Over-The-Air download, enables Bluetooth connectivity between current 2023 Cardo devices (excluding the PACKTALK SLIM) and devices from Sena, Midland, and Uclear.

Users can enjoy a seamless experience, similar to using the same intercom brand, without the usual complexities of pairing. This eliminates frustrations such as losing phone connections or sacrificing the ability to receive phone calls and navigation instructions. The only unsupported feature in this cross-brand connection is music sharing, which is also not supported between different generations of Cardo products.

To activate the functionality, Cardo users can download the latest software version directly from their Cardo Connect app with a simple Over-The-Air update—no cables required. As new versions and upgrades become available, the Cardo Connect app will automatically prompt users to install them.

Cardo Systems’ commitment to enhancing the communication experience for powersports riders sets a new standard in the industry. By enabling seamless connectivity with a wide range of communicator brands, the company is empowering riders with greater flexibility and convenience on the road.

Ducati North America has announced a safety recall for all 2020 through 2023 Panigale V2 motorcycles, citing a software error that could pose a potential hazard to riders.

  • The glitch may cause the headlight daylight position lamp (DRL) to activate while riding at night, compromising visibility and increasing the risk of accidents.
  • Similar incidents recorded in China, Spain, Japan, The US, and the UK.

Approximately 3,315 motorcycles are estimated to be affected by the recall, accounting for approximately five percent of the Panigale V2 population in North America. The recall covers units produced between December 4, 2019, and May 23, 2023. It is important to note that the affected motorcycles’ vehicle identification numbers (VINs) are not sequential, ranging from ZDMHAATW0LB000230 to ZDMHAATWXPB012777.

The issue first came to light in February 2023 when several Panigale V2 owners reported malfunctions with the instrument panel automatic light switch.

Ducati conducted an investigation following complaints from various global markets, including China, Spain, Japan, the US, and the UK. The company’s internal analysis revealed a software calibration error in a dashboard photodiode responsible for controlling the instrument panel backlight and DRLs.

To help owners identify if their motorcycle is affected, Ducati has programmed the photodiode to serve as a warning by changing the color of the dashboard backlight. Additionally, owners can manually switch on the low beam headlight using the left handlebar switchgear to ensure proper illumination during night riding.

Ducati North America is urging all owners of affected motorcycles to visit their local authorized Ducati dealer as soon as possible to rectify the issue. The recall service will be provided free of charge, including the necessary software recalibration.
