Aprilia Shiver 750 CKD launched at RM43,888 nett

Naza Premira becomes first and only firm outside Italy to locally assemble the Aprilia Shiver 750 CKD naked bike, pricing it at RM43,888 nett.

Authorised Malaysian distributor and importers of Aprilia bikes Naza Premira marked a major milestone earlier today after rolling out its latest offering, the locally assembled (CKD) Aprilia Shiver 750 naked for the Malaysian market.

Present during the special press presentation were Naza Group’s Group Chief Executive and CEO Datuk Wira SM Faisal Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin, Managing Director of Piaggio Asia Pacific Ltd. Simone Nicolai, Minister for International Trade and Indsutry Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed, and the Italian ambassador to Malaysia Mario Samartino.

The Naza Group has become the first and only firm to assemble the Aprilia Shiver 750 naked outside of Italy presently. The Aprilia Shiver 750 CKD edition model is being built in the firm’s plant located in Shah Alam. For now, the firm plan to locally assemble the Shiver 750 model only whilst other models in the Aprilia range will continue to be offered as fully imported CBU units.

The Shiver 750’s Malaysian CKD programme sees the Naza Group pump in an investment worth RM5 million in total, with another RM1 million being devoted to parts inventory. According to Simone Niccolai, the Shiver 750 was chosen for induction in such a programme as a response to the local market’s rapidly growing middleweight naked bike segment.

Previously, Naza Premira was retailing the fully imported (CBU) Aprilia Shiver 750 model at RM56,300 (nett selling price). The CKD version, on the other had, will be offered at a reduced price of RM43,888 (nett selling price) inclusive of a two-year manufacturer’s warranty – a substantial reduction of RM12,412.
