Next generation Triumph Speed Triple model being developed to have better electronics and new features.
British motorcycle maker Triumph has reportedly begun the development for its next generation Speed Triple model. Sources indicate that the next generation model will likely boast significant updates in its engine and electronics suite, which will allow it to meet upcoming and increasingly stringent emissions laws.
The Speed Triple will likely retain its unique 1,050cc triple-cylinder engine, with only a slight increase in power. Experts speculate that Triumph are dis-interested in entering a power battle against the BMW S1000R and KTM 1290 Super Duke.
Triumph has opted instead to make the next Speed Triple more rider friendly with the promise of a new multiple engine modes and traction control. There is also the promise of additional luxuries such as keyless ignition, as well as a newly revamped and lightweight chassis.
Chances are, revisions done to the next Speed Triple will also be carried over into Triumph’s other 1,050cc models, specifically the Tiger Sport.
