History was made today when Malaysia became the first South East Asian country to launch the much awaited Ducati 899 Panigale. The baby Panigale is priced at RM108,888 and is powered by a Superquadro, L-twin cylinder, 4 valve per cylinder, Desmodromic, liquid cooled engine. It produces 148hp at 10,750rpm and 99Nm of torque at 9,000rpm.

The all-new Ducati 899 Panigale will be officially launched in Malaysia tomorrow (October 12). Before that though, a group of European and American journalists were given the opportunity to ride the beast around Imola, Italy. Watch how easy it is to maneuver the bike through the tight circuit in the rain, and listen to that glorious engine. The American state of Nevada has apparently made it legal for motorcyclists, mopeds, cyclists and three-wheelers to run a red light.
It was found that traffic light sensors sometimes do not detect motorcyclists, leaving them stranded at red for a long time. These bikers or cyclists then have to wait for a car to arrive to trigger the sensor for the light to turn green. This increases the waiting time by at least 3 or 4 times. However, the new law requires riders to wait for two light cycles before they can ride off. (more…)
