Hong Leong Yamaha Motor (HLYM) has officially introduced the 2018 Yamaha XMax 250 scooter.
Sharing the DNA with the TMax, the XMax 250 is fitted with a 250cc single cylinder engine that produces 22.5hp and 24.3Nm torque.
HLYM has priced the 2018 Yamaha XMax 250 at RM22,498.50 (basic price with GST).
Hong Leong Yamaha Motor Sdn Bhd (HLYM) has officially made the 2018 Yamaha XMax 250 available now in the country. The 250cc sporty scooter first made its preview back in January when HLYM launched the updated 2018 Yamaha MT-09 streetfighter.
HLYM delivered their promise when they said that the new 2018 Yamaha XMax 250 will be made available in March. As stated before, the new 250cc scooter will arrive at all Yamaha authorised dealers across the country by the end of the month.
Powered by a 250cc, single-cylinder, SOHC engine with liquid-cooling, the Xmax comes with Yamaha’s Blue Core technology which is said to provide excellent power and torque outputs whilst conforming to the Euro4 emission standards.
This translates to 22.5hp at 7,000rpm and 24.3Nm of maximum torque at 5,500rpm. Compared to the Yamaha YZF-R25, the XMax 250 has a lower power output but a higher torque figure which means it’ll take off from the traffic light faster than you can say “Look at that Yamaha XMax!”
The XMax 250 is also the first motorcycle in its class which comes ready with a one-piece, compact and rigid forged crankshaft. This promises improved performance, efficiency as well as contributing to the bike’s overall light weight and low mechanical noise. Judging by the looks, the XMax definitely gets its DNA from its bigger and more powerful brother, the TMax.
Other extra features include ABS, traction control, large underseat storage which can fit two full-face helmets, smart key system, all-round LED lights, full LCD instrument panel, 12V power outlet for charging, adjustable handlebars and windshields just to name a few.
HLYM will be offering the 2018 Yamaha XMax 250 at a cool RM22,498.50 (basic price with GST). There are two colour options to choose from; Metallic White and Rusty Bronze. Well, what are you waiting for? Head over to the nearest Yamaha authorised dealer to know more!
