Honda Motorcycle Europe is pulling out all the stops and the 2021 Honda CB125R got our attention for a number of things. Don’t be fooled by its displacement, the new CB125R carries a lot of ‘big boy’ parts which makes it a genuine ‘Geng Tayar Besar’ model right out of the showroom.
Honda Motorcycles explained that the biggest highlight for the new CB125R is its Showa ‘Separate Function front fork Big Piston’ (SFF-BP) USD forks. This 41mm unit is the first of its kind in the 125cc category. These superbike-level forks offer high damping performance and at a much lighter weight.
Looking at the design, you’ll instantly notice the ‘Neo Sports Café’ façade just like the newer and bigger sibling, the CB1000R. This department remains unchanged because the looks for the CB125R is still very modern and up to date.
Underneath all that jazz is a new Euro5-compliant 125cc single-cylinder SOHC engine that pushes out around 14.7hp at 10,000rpm and 11.6Nm torque at 8,000rpm. That’s 1.6hp 1.6Nm torque more than the previous-gen). Matted to a six-speed manual transmission, riders will be able to hit a top speed of around 105km/h.
