2021 Honda CBR250RR launched in Japan – RM33,000

Honda has revealed its challenger for the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R and unsurprisingly, it’s the 2021 Honda CBR250RR. Packed with more power this time around, the new Honda 250cc sports bike now produces 41hp @ 13,000rpm and 25Nm of torque @ 11,000rpm.

With redesigned internals and electronic updates, Honda is able to squeeze 3hp more from the same twin-cylinder engine from the previous-gen. On the upside, owners of the 2021 Honda CBR250RR will also have the pleasure to play with its slipper clutch, which is offered as standard equipment for the 250cc motorcycle.

The bidirectional quickshifter is there for customers who choose to opt for it, especially in racing and track environments. Other goodies include:

  • Ride-by-Wire throttle
  • Selectable Riding Modes (Sport, Sport+, Comfort)
  • LCD meter display
  • All-round LED lights
  • 37mm USD front forks
  • 310mm front single disc brake (240mm rear) + dual-channel ABS

Design-wise is pretty much the same as the previous CBR250RR but for the 2021 model, customers can choose between four colour options – Matt Gun Powder Black Metallic, Pearl Glare White, Grand Prix Red and Grand Prix Red (Striped).

As for pricing, Honda has set the price for 2021 Honda CBR250RR in the Japanese market at 821,700 yen (around RM33,062). The Grand Prix Red (Striped) variant is set at 854,700 yen (around RM34,401). Quite a pricey bike considering that you can get a decent 500cc Honda bike here in Malaysia for that price.
