Following the launch of the magnificent 2021 Yamaha MT-09, the Japanese manufacturer went on to launch its newly updated little brother, the 2021 Yamaha MT-07. Essentially, the new MT-07 carries new styling, an updated engine, and some other mechanical updates for 2021.

Starting with the looks, the 2021 Yamaha MT-07 carries the new MT design DNA that was first seen on the new MT-09. A new headlight unit fitted with side DRLs looks more or less similar to the one found on the MT-09. You’ll also notice new body panels fitted with LED lights for both the turn signals and rear taillight.
Moving to the engine, the 2021 MT-07 still carries the same 690cc parallel-twin CP2 engine but has been significantly upgraded to comply with the Euro 5 emission regulations. New air intakes, fuel injectors, ECU settings, and upgraded exhaust design resulted in the same 74hp and 68Nm of torque, which is the same as the previous model, but its delivery is now said to be more linear.
The front brakes have also been upgraded with bigger 298mm discs brakes (16mm bigger than the previous-gen model). You’ll also get dual-channel ABS (the same as before) but in terms of delivering that power to the ground, that job is now done via a set of Michelin Road Pilot 5 tyres.
Other highlighted features include an inverted LCD meter display (similar to the previous MT-09 SP), compact tubular frame, and a revised riding ergonomics with 805mm seat height. Customers can choose between three colour options – Storm Fluo, Icon Blue, and Tech Black.
No price has been announced for the European market yet but folks living in the US can get one at around $7,599 (around RM 31,706). Delivery is set to commence sometime in March 2021 globally in stages.
