As motorcycle owners, we all know that having a good working motorcycle chain is essential for a good riding experience as well as part life longevity. Maintenance of that chain is considered a hassle and messy for most folks, but BMW Motorrad has solved that issue with its latest M Endurance Chain.
The BMW Motorrad M Endurance Chain is the future of motorcycle chains where you will never have to maintain it throughout its lifespan. The X-ring chain has a ‘resident permanent lubricant filling’ between the rollers and pins before they closed it off with the X-rings. Their new offering will not require any more chain lubrication from the owner from time to time.
What’s even more amazing is the fact that BMW Motorrad also stated that the M Endurance Chain won’t even require re-tensioning, even with the usual wear. How is this possible you ask? New coating material for the rollers using ‘industrial diamond’ or tetrahedrally amorphous carbon (ta-C). This baby doesn’t wear off with use and drastically reduces its friction coefficient.
For now, the new BMW Motorrad M Endurance Chain is only available for two models, the S 1000 RR and S 1000 XR. The manufacturer is in progress to launch the same quality of chains for other models in the near future.
