See the Movistar Yamaha MotoGP Team 2017 livery in all its glory.
The Movistar Yamaha MotoGP Team unveiled its 2017 livery this week at the Movistar headquarters in Madrid, Spain. Superstar rider Valentino Rossi and his new teammate Maverick Viñales unveiled the livery in the swanky soiree.
Both Rossi and Viñales also showed their new leathers supplied by Dainese and Alpinestars respectively. Both their 2017-spec Yamaha YZR-M1 race machines are now dressed in a new and darker shade of blue that’s identical to the Japanese brand’s production machines.
Rossi was undeniably the centre of attention, but this event also marked Viñales’ first official appearance in Yamaha colours. Having shown that he has the pace during the recent winter tests, Viñales’ entry into the Yamaha garage will likely shake things up.
With that, many are expecting the rising Spanish superstar to create some tension on Rossi’s side of the garage throughout 2017. In other words, we can expect the same, if not similar, levels of rivalry between Rossi and Viñanles as how it was previously with Jorge Lorenzo who’s now settling in at Ducati.
Rossi is still a force to b e reckoned with in 2017 as he appears to be in his best shape ever during the launch. The living legend is after his eighth premier class title and 10th world championship title this season, with the Yamaha likely to be the machine for the Italian to do so.
With all things considered, the factory Movistar Yamaha MotoGP team has quite the potent formula to compete with. You can check out the new livery in the extensive gallery we’ve prepared below.
