HJC signs with Pol Espargaro until 2022

HJC Helmets will be celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and to kick things off, they’ve announced that newly-signed Repsol Honda MotoGP rider, Pol Espargaro, will be a HJC rider until the end of 2021.

We’re not sure what’s going on in AGV, but this is the second rider that HJC has managed to rope away into their own camp after Andrea Iannone (most probably more money). Anyway, it’s definitely going to be an interesting season for the Spaniard, especially coming to terms with how he’ll handle the Honda RC213V compared to the recently proven KTM RC16.

According to Pol Espargaro himself, “I am really happy to sign with HJC Helmets, the global leader in motorcycle helmets. From their partnership with Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup to sponsoring top riders in various classes of MotoGP, you can see HJC’s awesome dedication to racing.”

“But above everything, HJC’s commitment to quality, innovation, and technology with its 2021 racing helmet is what attracted me to the brand. I look forward to many years of successful collaboration with HJC Helmets,” added the younger Espargaro brother.

Pol Espargaro will also be the first rider in the world to use HJC’s all-new race helmet called the RPHA 1. Previously, all HJC riders across all categories used the RPHA 01R, but they were only reserved for official riders and never for sale, unlike the Shark Race-R Pro GP (which you can buy now right here in Malaysia). Looking forward to 2021, baby!
