Mforce Bike Holdings has launched SM Sport, a new brand of locally produced motorcycles with their first ever bike; the 2017 SM Sport 110R.
The home-grown motorcycle brand has been developed by Benelli and Keeway to provide top quality machines at affordable prices to the ASEAN market.
The new 2017 SM Sport 110R is priced at RM3,788 (basic price without GST).
The 2017 SM Sport 110R is the first ever moped that was launched just moments ago by a home-grown motorcycle brand under the Mforce Bike Holdings, SM Sport. Developed by Benelli and Keeway, the new moped plus all the other upcoming models are focused on providing affordable motorcycles that are locally developed and produced in Malaysia.
The 2017 SM Sport 110R is an entry-level motorcycle that has all the right ingredients to make it in the ASEAN market; affordable, environmental friendly, stylish and durable. The collaboration by Mforce Bike Holdings together with Qian Jiang Motorcycle (the brand owner of Benelli) help gave birth the latest moped or kapchai offering the ever demanding market for quality motorcycles.
What makes the 2017 SM Sport 110R even more special is the fact that 30% of the parts comprises of locally-source parts by local vendor and the said figure will go up to 60% in a couple of years time. With great styling and up-to-date features, the 2017 SM Sport 110R is sure to be a hit among Malaysians and other neighbouring countries.
Powered by a 109cc SOHC, four-stroke, Euro3 engine, the 2017 110R produces 6.4hp at 7,500rpm and 7.0Nm of torque at 7,000rpm. The fuel-efficient moped together comes with a fuel saving switch that allows the rider to save up to 10% more fuel with a slight decrease in overall power output. The switch is connected to the bike’s CDI that’ll control the overall fuel consumption to give extra mileage and savings to the everyday rider looking to save a few extra Ringgit.
All the power is transferred down to the rear wheel via a four-speed constant mesh manual gearbox and a final chain drive. The bike has been claimed to be able to reach around 100km/h in which we will try to find out in the nearest future in one of our test ride sessions.
For styling, the 110R comes with all-round LED lights for the front headlights, rear lamps as well as the signal indicators to give that extra visibility in all riding conditions. The new moped also comes with Daytime Running Lights and an anti-theft switch on the key slot to increase to overall safety of the new 2017 SM Sport 110R.
Most folks now are looking for more utilitarian aspects for their everyday ride and SM Sport has got you covered with their latest bike offering. The 110R comes with a 10-litre underseat storage that can easily fit some of your belongings. SM Sport took a step further by providing a USB port so that you can charge your mobile devices on the go within the safety storage space under the seat of the 110R.
The SM Sport 110R retails at RM3,788 (basic price without GST) with a warranty of two-years or 20,000 km whichever comes first. There are three vibrant colour choices including Bumblebee Yellow, Ocean Blue and Ruby Red available. The bikes will be available starting tomorrow at all authorised Mforce Bike Holdings dealers across the country.
