Modenas has announced that they have something special planned on 19 November 2020 and judging by the teaser photo, the new bike will most likely be the new 2021 Modenas Elegan 250 or a completely different 300cc maxi-scooter.
We’re not sure which way this will play out, but a new 250cc scooter from Modenas will target a much bigger audience that won’t have to upgrade their driver’s licenses to B full. On the other hand, a more powerful rendition will pull in a different crowd into the mix, but that will be confirmed next week.
Fans with eagle eyes can see that the front-end design and headlight setup resemble the Kymco X-Town 300i, a very sweet-looking scooter. Equipped with a 276cc single-cylinder SOHC engine that produces around 24hp and 25Nm of torque, which is slightly more powerful than the 250cc Elegan.
If this is indeed a Kymco X-Town 300i rebadged with Modenas logos, you can expect specs like adjustable brake lever, full-LED headlights with DRLs, mid-range dual-disc brakes, 14-inch front wheel (13-inch rear), 12.5-litre fuel tank, large under-seat storage, and more.
For now, we’ll just have to wait for its official debut on 19 November 2020. We’re big fans of maxi-scooters here at Bikes Republic and we’re confident that Modenas will launch something that’s both interesting as well as affordable to the masses. Stay tuned for more updates.
