Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP presents 2020 livery

Yesterday was filled with MotoGP livery unveilings, including the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP factory squad. Both Maverick Vinales and Valentino Rossi uncovered the 2020 Yamaha YZR-M1 carrying more or less similar graphics from 2019 but with more emphasis on their main sponsor, Monster Energy.

Lin Jarvis, Yamaha Motor Racing Managing Director stated “Today we officially ‘introduced’ the 2020 Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team line-up. Monster Energy has been a team partner since 2013 and it was just 12 months ago in Jakarta when they stepped up to become the main sponsor of our Factory MotoGP Team.”

“The 2019 bike design and team ‘look’ was very well received by both Monster Energy and Yamaha fans around the world, so we decided to keep the strong image unchanged for 2020. However, that is the only thing that remains unchanged. If you scratch beneath the surface you will find many changes that Yamaha and the team have made to improve the bike, the performance of our riders and the total working efficiency of our team,” added Jarvis.

Maverick Vinales looks to be very excited to not only carry their momentum from 2019 into this season but also improve the 2020 Yamaha M1 to be able to fight the front runners. With high hopes placed on his shoulders, Vinales stated that he’s physically and mentally ready to fight for the world championship, especially with Yamaha signing on their last Yamaha MotoGP World Champion as a test rider, Jorge Lorenzo.

As for Valentino Rossi, this might be the final time we’ll see the nine-time world champion unveiling a factory bike while wearing matching leathers as both Maverick Vinales and Fabio Quartararo were signed by the Yamaha factory squad for 2021 and 2022. It might be his final season in MotoGP, but Yamaha has big plans for 2020 and there’s a high probability that Rossi will be there against the top riders.
