Following the announcement of the MotoGP Sepang Test cancellation, the organisers have updated the Qatar Test with an extra test session and a shakedown test for all MotoGP teams in March 2021. It’s going to be a tight fit for teams and riders, but more tests are always welcomed when it comes to the highest level of two-wheel motorsports racing.
Teams, official test riders, and MotoGP rookies will have the first crack during the Shakedown Test which has been scheduled for 5 March 2021 at the Losail International Circuit. The following two days will be the first Official Test followed by the second one from 10-12 March 2021.
That will hopefully give the teams and riders enough time to get used to the new bike setups before the first round at the same venue from 26-28 March 2021. As expected, the entire grid will undergo all necessary steps to ensure that they are out of harm’s way in relation to COVID-19.
This includes social distancing, proper hygiene, scheduled tests and swabs, plus many more. 2021 will see a huge change in the field and if it’s anything like 2020, this season will be one of the most competitive and epic championships yet. Stay tuned for more updates.
