The Repsol Honda MotoGP team will make a move to SC-Project exhausts for the 2017 season.
After years of working with exhaust giants Termignoni, Repsol Honda will make the switch to SC-Project exhausts after inking a deal with the Italian company.
Honda bikes with SC-Projects exhausts are nothing new. HRC has been using the exhaust with the Marc VDS satellite team and also for Moto2 2016 World Champion’s bike, Johann Zarco from Ajo Motorsport.
New HRC director, Tetsuhiro Kuwata, believes in the background and experience of the exhaust company to strike a deal for 2017. According to Tetsuhiro himself, he stated “We are happy to welcome SC-Project as official sponsor of exhaust systems for our Repsol Honda Team. SC-Project has strong experience at the top level of worldwide motorcycle racing championships, and we are sure this alliance will prove very successful in terms of mutual cooperation and racing achievements.”
The heads over at SC-Project, Marco De Rossi and Stefano Lavazza are also very excited about the new partnership with Repsol Honda. According to the SC-Project, “For us it’s an honour and a joy to be technical sponsor of exhaust system of the most important team in MotoGP, the Repsol Honda Team. Currently SC-Project is one of the leaders in exhaust system for motorbike, with a very high technology developed directly in the worldwide competition like MotoGP, Moto2, Moto3 and SBK and we are sure that the collaboration with HRC will improve more and more our brand and our exhaust technology.”
The Italian exhaust giants have been producing magnificent and outstanding results for the past few years especially with Johann Zarco being crowned the 2016 Moto2 World Champion on a bike equipped with their exhaust system. It seems like HRC has much faith for them to start working their wonders as the technical partner that will assist Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa in the 2017 season.
