Motorists all around Selangor can now report any complaints of potholes using Waze.
According to local daily The Star, popular navigation app Waze has collaborated with the proper authorities and Google Asia Pacific in making this a reality. The decision was finalised last month on the 23rd of September, 2016.
Anyone on the road with the app installed in their smart phones can file in a report by tagging or ‘flagging’ the exact location of the road imperfection they have discovered. Once the report has been filed, the app will then direct it to the proper authorities for repair works to be carried out.
Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, the Menteri Besar of Selangor, stated yesterday that a bridging software will be implemented to keep track of all the reports and any work that has been carried out.
With the help of Waze and this new addition, all of the local authorities will be able inform motorists of any repair work currently underway via the app. The authorities that are involved in doing so are the Petaling Jaya City Council, Subang Jaya Municipal Council, Ampang Jaya Municipal Council and Kajang Municipal Council.
If you don’t have Waze on your smartphones just yet, you can download through Google Play and the Apple App Store. Alternatively, you can find out more about the app via its official website, www.waze.com.
