Sources report that the upcoming Hyosung GD250R will boast a new exterior design, which bears stark similarities to the EBR 1190RX. Underneath, the GD250R will receive a liquid-cooled four-stroke 250cc single-cylinder heart, primed with fuel injection to develop 27.6hp at 9,500rpm and 24.1Nm of torque at 7,000rpm. The mill will be paired with a six-speed transmission as well.

Other reported details include a seat height measuring 810mm (slightly taller than the rivalling Honda CBR250R’s and Kawasaki Ninja 250SL’s 780mm). Other than that, the GD250R’s chassis will feature a set of 37mm inverted front forks, plus an offset rear shock with preload adjustability – similar to Hyosung’s Exiv 250 Naked, which is known as the Naza N5 naked in our market.

It will also feature all-round disc brakes, having its front primed with a 300mm disc and a quad-piston caliper, as well as a 230mm unit in the rear with dual-piston calipers. No word on the availability of ABS, but the GD250R’s claimed kerb weight reportedly stands at 155kg.

Hyosung did not mention a releasedate, many believe the GD250R will break into the domestic Korean market within the next few months.

Furthermore, the model will likely see life as a rebadged Naza Bikes model for the Malaysian market as how its Exiv 250 (GD250N) naked sibling was rebadged as the Naza Bikes N5. (Read our review of the Naza N5 as well).
