Suzuki SV650A naked streetbike launched in Malaysia from RM38,800 (basic without GST).
Suzuki Assemblers Malaysia Sdn Bhd (SAM) updated its big capacity line up for the local market after announcing the availability of the 2016 Suzuki SV650A model earlier today.
A staple model in the S-brand’s line up since 1999, the new SV650A model comes powered by a 654cc DOHC 90-degree V-twin heart, with this new 2016 model’s unit updated for Euro 4 emissions compliance.
The mill generates roughly 75hp and 64Nm of torque with the former marking a 4hp increase from its last iteration and the latter now delivered at a slightly higher RPM. Typically, both are sent to the rear wheel using a six-speed box and chain-drive setup.
The updated powertrain is encased within a trellis chassis design as before, but Suzuki claims that over 140 parts and components were revised, resulting in an 8kg reduction in kerb weight for the ABS-equipped model.
Additionally, the S-brand’s Malaysian arm were keen to highlight some of the changes meant to improve the SV650A’s rideability. Besides a low seat height of 785mm plus the revised and slightly more compact styling changes, there’s also the Low RPM Assist suite that helps rider in launching and running at lower revs.
Besides that, the Suzuki SV650A also gets a new and simplified Suzuki Easy Start ignition suite, as well as a new full-LCD digital instrument display panel that offers a plethora of data for riders including gear position, fuel consumption data, dual trip meter and much more.
Additionally, distributors SAM also highlighted that it has prepared a selection of accessories for riders to customise their new SV650A with. Colours available are Metallic Triton Blue & Pearl Mira Red.
Available for purchases via authorised Suzuki dealers nationwide now, SAM has set a very tempting basic sales price of RM38,800 (without GST) for the new Suzuki SV650A naked bike here in Malaysia.
