TVS NTorq 125 Race XP enters Indian home market as “most tech-laden” scooter in segment.
Those familiar with Indian motorcycle manufacturer TVS will know that it’s a brand that means business – a fact further bolstered by it partnership with BMW Motorrad. Its latest debutant in its Indian home market, the TVS NTorq 125 Race XP, is no exception either.
Dubbed as the “most tech-laden” offering in segment, the scooter packs quite the spec sheet to back up that claim and more. On top of which comes the eye-catching exterior styling to match too – snazzy wheels, racy livery plus LED lighting included.
Powering the NTorq 125 Race XP is a 125cc single-cylinder mill brimmed with what TVS dubs its ‘Race Tuned Fuel injection’ (RT-Fi) suite. It allows the mill to thump out a claimed 10.2ps (10hp) and 10.8Nm, thus making it the most powerful offering in its segment.
Furthermore, the NTorq 125 Race XP boasts two selectable ride modes – ‘Street’ and ‘Race’. Whilst Street mode promises smooth and efficient performance for city cruising, Race mode delivers sharper throttle responses for aggressive riding, especially on highway straights.
Another key tech present on board is an Bluetooth connectivity suite using the TVS SmartXonnect app. This lets users change riding modes,as well as toggle navigation or console brightness amongst many others. It even boasts a voice assist feature too and, altogether, makes it the first connected offering in its class too.
In short, the TVS NTorq Race 125 XP is an arguably enticing proposition indeed, even when compared to comparable Japanese rivals we’re all familiar with. This racy Indian scooter is currently on sale in India with an SRP of IDR83,275 (approx. RM4,738).
