Zero Motorcycles set to charge law enforcement sector

LAW enforcement agencies worldwide could soon opt for electric power soon as leading electric bikes maker Zero Motorcycle launched its 2013 Police and Security model line up.

The expansion follows up with last year’s launch of the firm’s DS Police Motorcycle. The DS has since undergone numerous field-testing by various law enforcement agencies around the continental United States and the UK, motivating the firm for the 2013 line up expansion.

Zero’s new 2013 law enforcement model line up comprised of two models based on the Zero S and Zero DS, carrying the ‘Police/Security’ variant designations. The firm states that on a single charge, the S and DS Police/Security variants are capable of city travel ranges up to 212km and 195km respectively.

If proven to be cost effective and efficient for law enforcement uses, it could boost Zero’s regular consumer electric motorcycle sales globally.
