Shell Advance Ride-Thru Service event held during MotoGP sets a new and unique record.
Shell Malaysia, title sponsors of the 2016 Shell Malaysia MotoGP race weekend, celebrated a major milestone after its Shell Advance Ride-Thru Service initiative set a new and unique record.
Held in the car park of the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) across the three-day race weekend, the Shell Advance Ride-Thru Service carnival was opened to all 250cc and below bikes.
One of the biggest draws of the carnival was the free motorcycle service rewarded to visiting race fans that bought packs of Shell Advance premium motorcycle lubricants. By the end of its three-day run, the Shell Advance Ride-Thru Service carnival successfully serviced more than 500 bikes in total.
Besides that, other fun activities were also held including a lucky draw where exclusive merchandise and free bike washes were given away to lucky winners. Many expressed their gratitude for the free service that prepared them for their long journeys ahead, with many also looking forward to a smoother and more powerful ride home using Shell Advance.
“At the end, we were able to celebrate a historic win by Ducati on the track. Off it, we enjoyed record sales plus a hugely successful oil change programme that enabled motorcyclists to experience the oil that powered Ducati to victory,” added Shell Lubricants Marketing Manager Alex Lim about the highly successful event.
The Shell Advance Ride-Thru Service was one of the many activities organised by Shell Malaysia as part of its efforts in promoting the 2016 Shell Malaysia MotoGP race weekend. The leading oil firm also took the opportunity to announce an extension of its title sponsorship for the annual event until 2020 during the same weekend.
