A housewife died after the motorcycle her husband was riding crashed on Jalan Gemencheh – Batang Melaka.
The 51-year-old victim and her husband rode a maxi scooter from Ayer Molek, Melaka.
Tampin District Police Chief, Superintendent Amiruddien Sariman, said the victim was seriously injured in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene. “Preliminary investigations found that a couple riding a WMoto RT2 motorcycle from the direction of Ayer Molek were on their way to the woman’s sister’s house in Palong 1 Negeri Sembilan.
“The passenger of the motorcycle, a woman, was seriously injured in the head and was confirmed dead at the scene of the incident while the rider was slightly injured on the right hand side.
“The body was taken to the Tampin Hospital Forensic Unit for an autopsy,” said Superintendent Amiruddien.
According to him, the case was investigated in accordance with Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and the investigation is still ongoing.

The motorcycle involved was a WMotor RT2 scooter with a 250cc engine, and not a “BMW RT2” as mentioned in the local newspapers. The BMW badge on the front of the motorcycle is decorative.
