2020 Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 gets new colours + quickshifter

Those who are interested in getting their very own Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 or Svartpilen 701 should be glad to know that they’ll be getting some fresh new colour options for the 2020 models. Going into their third year of production (second year for Svartpilen), more exterior updates were introduced to keep the Husqvarna street models primed for the roads.

Both the 2020 Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 and Svartpilen 701 come with new colour schemes, trims, and graphics to further enhance the bikes’ modern looks as well as ground-breaking design. We’ve posted earlier this year that the 701 will be available in Malaysia but so far, we’ve never seen one on the roads with Malaysian number plates.

Anyway, moving on. The Vitpilen 701 with that new white/blue colourway will certainly turn heads wherever you go. If you prefer something that’s a bit more rugged, perhaps the 2020 Svartpilen 701 will suit your taste buds with its black/military brown colour combo. Anywhere you go, choosing either model makes you one hell of cool guy/gal.

Worried about power? The 701s are powered by the same 692cc single-cylinder engine that produces a cool 75hp and 72Nm of torque. In our experience, that’s more than enough to cover your everyday travels, weekend mountain riding sessions, and even long tourers nationwide. Paired with its dynamic yet light high-performance chassis, we imagined that the riding experience should be somewhere around the blissful region.

For the 2020 models, a set of sexy spoke wheels now come as standard with CNC-machined footrests, adjustable suspension package (courtesy of WP Suspension, of course), and an overall lightweight machine sitting at 158kg (161kg for the Svartpilen) before filling up with petrol goodness. The biggest performance update? A bi-directional quickshifter. Woot woot.

Anyway, those who are interested in getting one can probably go check with Chia Motor Petaling Jaya since they were the ones who prompted the ability to book the 701. Prices at the start of the year were around RM68,500 but we’re pretty sure that things have changed in the recent past.
