2020 Yamaha NMAX unveiled in Malaysia – RM8,998

Hong Leong Yamaha Motor (HLYM) has officially introduced the new 2020 Yamaha NMAX for the Malaysian market. The latest scooter offering from Yamaha comes with an updated design and features for those looking for a stylish yet utilitarian two-wheeler in the 150cc range.

The 2020 Yamaha NMAX 155 will be made available for viewing as stocks have arrived at all Yamaha authorised dealers across Malaysia. Those who are interested can most likely place your bookings now where the price tag sits at RM8,998 (excluding insurance, road tax & registration).

Starting with the new design, the latest-generation NMAX comes with a new front LED headlight setup which consists of six LED bulbs (four low beams and two high beams) which are also paired with a couple of sleek LED positioning lights for greater visibility, especially at night.

The rear is also fitted with a new LED taillight by utilising four LED strips to convey a unique 3D design that looks like the one found on its big brother, the X-MAX. It also comes with a redesigned LCD meter panel that’s easy to read and toggle through the bike’s information via a lever switch on the left side of the handlebar.

Underneath all that jazz lies a 155cc single-cylinder SOHC liquid-cooled Blue Core engine that has been further enhanced with the Starter Generator Control Unit and Smart Motor Generator System for quiet engine starts. The result is 15.1hp at 8,000rpm and 13.9Nm torque at 6,000rpm. There are also a Stop & Start system and a 12-volt electric socket for ease of charging.

Other features include a bigger 7.1-litre fuel tank, 23.3-litre under-seat storage, and many more. As stated above, the new 2020 Yamaha NMAX 155 is already available at all authorised dealers with price tag of RM8,998. Two colours are up for grabs – Yamaha Grey and Matt Red.
