The highly anticipated 2021 Aprilia RS 660 has been officially unveiled for the European market together with its full specs and price tag. Those living in that continent can book one of your very own at €11,050, which is around RM54,000 in our currency. Not bad at all, eh?
How did Aprilia manage to come up with such an impressive price tag for the 2021 Aprilia RS 660? It’s a tough task to carry out as the 100hp sports bike comes with a number of features available from its top-of-the-line superbike or ‘halo bike’, the RSV4.
Focused on delivering a more exciting riding pleasure into the rider’s everyday life, the RS 660 comes fitted with 659cc twin-cylinder engine (parallel-twin) that produces a very respectable 100hp at 10,500rpm and 67Nm at 8,500rpm. This is further amplified thanks to its dry weight of only 169kg.
Controlling all this power was tasked to its Aprilia Performance Ride Control (APRC) electronics suite which consists of an advanced inertial six-axis navigation system that’s similar to the one found on the RSV4. Within the APRC includes traction control, wheelie control, quickshifter, cruise control, engine braking and mapping plus adjustable ABS.
Other features include:
- Ride-by-Wire engine management
- Six-speed manual transmission with Aprilia Quick Shift (AQS) up and down
- Five riding modes (Road and Track, 3 fixed and 2 customisable)
- Front KYB 41mm stanchion fork (preload & rebound adjustable)
- Rear aluminium asymmetric swingarm with adjustable monoshock
- Dual 320mm front disc brakes with Brembo radial calipers
- Single 220mm rear disc + more
We know that Aprilia Malaysia will be bringing the 2021 Aprilia RS 660 into the market as they’ve stated before the COVID-19 pandemic. We can also expect the price to be hiked up to over the RM70,000 mark thanks to import duties and taxes but we’ll just have to wait for its arrival. For now, you can just plan of which colour you want, Lava Red, Apex Black, or the newly introduced Acid Gold.
