The 2021 Yamaha SR400 Final Edition was recently launched in Japan and like the name goes, this will be the final hurrah for this particular model. Not wanting to update this baby to Euro 5, the SR400 Final Edition comes in two variants, the base Final Edition and Final Edition Limited.
With a rich history in the motorcycle scene, the SR400 is powered by a 399cc single-cylinder SOHC air-cooled engine matted to a five-speed manual transmission that produces 23hp at 6,500rpm and 28Nm of torque at 5,000rpm. It’s tough to compete with the beautifully made XSR models, which is understandable why Yamaha chose to end its production for good.
Everything about the 2021 Yamaha SR400 screams retro, from only having a kick-starter, halogen lights, dual analogue instrument cluster, and rear drum brake. It does however come with fuel-injection, 18-inch spoke wheels, and a front single disc brake to round it all up into a good affordable and very retro motorcycle to own.
The standard model comes in two different colour options, two-tone metallic grey and metallic blue. The 2021 Yamaha SR400 Final Edition Limited will be available in a combination of brown, bronze, and brass and it’s only limited to 1,000 units. Price starts at ¥605,000, which is around the RM26,500 mark.
