It’s getting harder and harder for someone in the motorsports industry to get support to do what they love and at the same time bring some good values for their country. Luckily for our national Moto2 rider, Hafizh Syahrin, his efforts are going unnoticed with more and more support pouring in.
The latest news from NST informs that Hafizh Syahrin has successfully signed a new sponsorship deal with UMW Grantt International Sdn Bhd. From all the help and sponsors he’s been getting so far, they all add up to around 60% of what he needs in order to continue racing in the MotoGP intermediate class.

UMW Autoparts Senior General Manager, Anas Nasrun Mohd Osman, stated that Hafizh Syahrin can hopefully focus more on improving and getting good results in Moto2 with this newly signed agreement with UMW Grantt. It’s a tall hill to climb as the young Malaysian has to quickly adapt to the new Moto2 machine that now runs the 765cc Triumph inline-three engine.
Together with other supports from SIC, Sports Ministry, Primavalet, and more, we’re hoping that our beloved MotoGP rider can get up to speed with the intermediate championship battles where the start of 2020 will begin on 8 March 2020 at the Losail International Circuit in Qatar. All the best with the Angel Nieto squad!
His times during the recent Moto2 official test in Jerez is seen as a starting point with his new machine and this weekend will hopefully bring more good news as the entire Moto2 and Moto3 grid heads to Qatar this weekend for their final pre-season testing.
