Honda files patent for Honda Africa Twin naked version?

Boon Siew Honda just recently launched their latest premium flagship bikes earlier this year, including the new 2020 Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin. The hype is pretty much on a high, but Honda is already planning on a new model based on the famous Honda Africa Twin – a naked version.

That’s right, a set of patents posted by Honda at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) showed a stripped-down model of what looks like the Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin. Judging by the photos, some folks are even talking about it possibly being the new Honda Rebel 1100. And those folks include Young Machine (a very reliable source close to Honda).

This can be seen by its double-cradle frame and subframe design where most experts have indicated to be closer to the Africa Twin rather than the Rebel. Nevertheless, the “body frame structure for a saddle riding vehicle” patent is definitely an intriguing prospect indeed.

The latest 2020 Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin is fitted with a 1,084cc parallel-twin engine, the new CRF1100L range produces 101hp and 105Nm of maximum torque. Other highlighted features include variable Exhaust Control Valve (ECV), Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT), MU-managed Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), Selectable Riding Modes (Tour, Urban, Gravel, Off-Road, and USER), Cornering ABS, and many more.
