FIM homologation status, light 1,250g weight figure, as well as removable rear spoiler amongst many highlights present.
Renowned Italian helmet makers X-Lite recently added a brand new iteration of its signature X-803 carbon fibre race helmet for 2022. Christened as the X-lite X-803 Iridium Edition, this lid features new styling that features a distinct and special reflective iridium visor.
This iridium visor-equipped edition is a play on the gold and silver editions that the Nolan-owned brand launched prior, with all three again adding an iridium lens to the existing dark smoke and clear visor flavours present.
The RS in the X-803’s nameplate stands for “Racetrack Setup,” and this claim is solidly backed by the work X-Lite has put in, specifically in terms of aerodynamics, weight, and ventilation especially for use during a full tuck, hard braking, or high-speed elbow-down cornering. Let’s also not forget its status as a FIM-homologated helmet too.
Aptly, in this form, the X-Lite X-803 RS Iridium Edition sees its centrepiece, by which we mean the iridium visor, do most of the styling work. Apart from that, the lid sports a plain exposed carbon look with a glossy finishing coat plus burgundy strikes on the helmet’s vents and logos. X-Lite also brimmed a clear spoiler, and this is also removable should you prefer a less aggressive look.
Other highlights include a claimed low weight figure of just 1,250g, removable and washable interior lining with an activated carbon fabric to enhance both comfort and cleanliness, as well as a Pinlock screen included in the box.
The X- Lite X-803 RS Iridium Edition is available from sizes XXS all the way up to XXXL, and commands an RRP of €649.99 – approx. RM2,994.27 – in the European market.
