2016 CMC Italjet 125 scooter launched – From RM6,996*

Chear Global Sdn Bhd introduces sporty and stylish new CMC Italjet 125 scooter from RM6,996 (with GST).

Local motorcycling distribution giant Chear Global Sdn Bhd has expanded its range of offerings after launching the new CMC Italjet 125 scooter in the Sunway Pyramid Shopping Centre earlier today.

Mofaz Motosikal Sdn Bhd is assembling the CMC Italjet 125 locally in Malaysia and the scooter will be hitting showroom floors nationwide in the coming weeks.

With its arrival, Chear Global Sdn Bhd has essentially revived the Italjet brand here in Malaysia after a decade-long hiatus. We’ve done some research and found that the CMC Italjet 125 can trace its roots back to Lambretta Lamsport 125 and Italjet Formula 125 that was designed by designer Alessandro Tartarini.

In other words, this sporty scooter has got a proper Italian heritage to match its sharp Italian design.

The CMC Italjet 125 is powered by an air-cooled and carburetted 125cc four-stroke single-cylinder that thumps out approximately 8.85hp @ 8,000rpm and peak torque of 8.6Nm @ 6,000rpm. Typically, all that is transmitted to the rear wheel using a twist-and-go automatic V-belt transmission – a relative norm for such bikes in this segment.

The chassis, on the other hand, is primed with a set of telescopic front forks and a hydraulic rear monoshock whilst anchors come in the form of all-round single-disc brakes measuring 190mm up front and 205mm at the rear. Other sporty traits include the tall-ish 800mm seat height, as well as the claimed nett weight of 118kg.

Complementing the CMC Italjet 125’s stylish Italian design are several notable modern features. Highlights here include an electric starter unit, a large and amber-illuminated multi-info digital display screen placed next to the analogue speedometer, not forgetting the full-LED lighting front and aft.

Giving this scooter some added practicality is its large 6.8-litre fuel tank, as well as a its large under-seat storage bin that easily accommodates a full-face helmet.Furthermore, the CMC Italjet 125 will be offered in two colour scheme options – Red and White.

All this Italian style and flair plus the sporty and modern aesthetics comes at a relatively affordable basic selling price of RM6,996 inclusive of 6% GST set by Chear Global Sdn Bhd.
