Over 400 BMW Motorrad motorcycle enthusiasts and fans gathered at the open car park over at Jalan Riong, Bangsar for the BMW Motorrad Nightfuel event. The gathering was held on Saturday 15 April 2017 where BMW Motorrad Malaysia also unveiled three of their latest Heritage models for 2017; the BMW R nineT, BMW R nineT Pure and BMW R nineT Racer.
The event also celebrated friendship, food, music and premium motorcycles among enthusiasts and fans across the country. Unveiling the all new Heritage line-up also elevated the bikes’ ‘pure riding’ experience towards those who attended the event.
According to the Head of BMW Motorrad Malaysia, Mr Owen Riley, said “Make Life a Ride represents all the values of the BMW Motorrad brand, which strives to illustrate a more lifestyle and active attitude towards motorcycle riding,”
“It is an attitude characterized by self-confidence, friendship, responsibility and riding the open roads. The new BMW Motorrad Heritage lines of motorcycles will enable us to share this passion with a new segment of customers here as we are doing tonight with all our customers and fans.”
The event kicked things off with dinner and a live performance by local band NRG or “Name, Reputation & Glamour”, before the BMW Motorrad Heritage lines of motorcycles were unveiled by Mr. Owen Riley, Head of BMW Motorrad and Mr. Sashi Ambi, Head of Corporate Communications, BMW Group Malaysia.
The new models were initially introduced by the Managing Director & CEO of BMW Group Malaysia, Mr. Han Sang Yun who stated that “The new BMW Motorrad Heritage lines of motorcycles have enabled us to share our passion for our premium two wheel vehicles with a new segment of customers here and help them make their lives a ride.”
All three models share the same but powerful 1,170cc air/oil-cooled boxer engine that is able to churn out 110hp and 116Nm of torque that’s driven to the rear wheel via a 6-speed transmission. To make sure the power plant meets the Euro4 requirements, the engine has gone through an evolution for its engine mapping, fuel delivery system, carbon fuel canister and a larger catalytic converter for the exhaust system.
The new BMW R nineT, R nineT Pure and R nineT Racer are priced at RM101,900, RM82,900 and RM88,900 (basic prices with GST).
