First glimpse of the upcoming new 2017 Honda X-ADV adventure scooter.
More news from the front ahead of INTERMOT and EICMA, this time from the Japanese red wing marque. The firm released a final teaser image of the upcoming 2017 Honda X-ADV adventure scooter, and we’re excited.
From its last teaser video, we know that Honda will likely unveil its radical new adv scooter later this year during EICMA 2016. And the firm confirmed just that after issuing an official statement with the release of the final teaser image.
The firm promised that the 2017 Honda X-ADV will be revealed in Milan this November in its final production-ready state before it goes on sale. The latter will likely happen towards the year-end or sometime early next year.
Honda went further by stating the new X-ADV is in fact a ‘new breed of machine’ with ‘long travel suspension to handle the roughest road surfaces’. It even added that the model will offers the practicality of a five-stage adjustable windscreen and storage space for an off-road style helmet’ as well.
Previewed in concept form as the Honda City Adventure during last year’s EICMA, the 2017 Honda X-ADV is based off the brand’s existing NC750 platform that comes in NC750S street, NC750X adventure and Integra maxi-scooter forms.
Based on leaked patents, we already know that the X-ADV underpins the Integra maxi-scooter’s chassis architecture whilst the NC750 platform’s 754cc in-line four-cylinder will power it. It will also come paired with Honda’s signature dual-clutch transmission (DCT), giving it the twist-and-go ease.
The package of a go-anywhere, twist-and-go bike for both urban and non-urban use holds a really strong appeal, and we’re just as excited as you are to see the 2017 Honda X-ADV in the flesh. Stay tuned for more updates as its November debut date comes closer.
