There’s no doubt that 2019 will be a massive, MASSIVE year for American bike manufacturer, Harley-Davidson. This very iconic brand is set for a major evolution with the introduction of some very outstanding models like the Streetfighter, Pan America, and FXDR 114 to name a few.
A part of this major step in evolution is the Harley-Davidson LiveWire electric cruiser. First introduced back in 2014, the project has seen a lot of upgrades, updates, and additions to the whole concoction. Harley-Davidson’s most futuristic bike is finally ready for the last major step; production.
According to Paul James, Director of Programme Management of Harley-Davidson, “This is a big moment for us because our engineers have been working away on it for years and now they finally get to show it to the public. It’s kind of a relief in many ways. We’ve done so much work to move it on.”
Although the first-ever LiveWire was introduced a few years back, H-D is claiming that the final production bike is almost completely different from its origins where both performance and functionality is taken to a whole new level.
Some of these features include:
- Smartphone connectivity via its full-colour TFT dash
- High-end Brembo monoblock units
- All-round fully-adjustable Showa suspension package
- Fast-charging mode using the normal wall socket
- Easy access to bike’s engine mapping and diagnostics
- Twist and go transmission with step down gearbox
No other information has been released regarding the production 2019 Harley-Davidson LiveWire such as price, power, or torque but we’re confident that the true spirit of H-D will remain embedded in the bike’s DNA even if it’s an all-electric cruiser.
