Honda MSX 125 mini-moto finally launched in Malaysia at RM11,128.94 (Basic with GST).
We saw this coming for quite some time, and we even saw Boon Siew Honda Sdn Bhd previewing the bike to local fans throughout the Honda Asian Journey 2016 program. Now, the long-anticipated Honda MSX 125 is finally here in Malaysia!
Also known as the Honda Grom in certain markets, the red wing marque’s cult favourite mini-moto model is finally here in Malaysia officially. Assembler and distributors Boon Siew Honda have set a basic selling price of RM11,128.94 (with GST) for the pint-sized new addition.
Said price includes Boon Siew Honda’s standard offer of a two-year or 20,000km full manufacturer’s warranty as well.
To refresh your memory, the Honda MSX 125 is powered by an air-cooled four-stroke 125cc single-cylinder that thumps out roughly 9.7hp @ 7,000rpm and peak torque of 11Nm @ 5,250rpm. The mill is primed with electronic fuel injection and a four-speed manual transmission.
The powertrain in encased within a traditional backbone chassis design, with the entire bike boasting a light claimed kerb weight of just 104kg too. The chassis is primed with telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock, a 5.7-litre fuel tank, as well as all-round hydraulic disc brakes front and aft.
Besides an electric starter, the Honda MSX 125 also boasts a digital instrument display panel plus a stacked LED headlight design up front, all of which were meant to supplement the compact mini-moto’s stylish design.
The new Honda MSX 125 can be had in either Burning Red or Hyper Yellow paint scheme options. Crucially, Boon Siew Honda have also prepared a catalogue of accessories for owners to customise their MSX 125s with. You can view the full catalogue in the gallery we’ve prepared below.
With the arrival of the Honda MSX 125, Malaysian mini-moto fans are now spoiled for choice in this segment. Earlier this week, rivals Benelli had introduced its TnT 135 model too. Both models are set to give the long-dominant Kawasaki Z125 Pro (Kawasaki KSR 125 replacement) a run for its money indeed.
