In conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year 2019 celebrations, Kawasaki Motors Malaysia (KMSB) organised their annual Kawasaki Road Safety Campaign 2019 or “Kempen Keselamatan Jalan Raya Kawasaki 2019”. Held at the Sungai Besi toll plaza (Southbound), the campaign entered its fourth year which was jointly-organised with the Malaysia Motorcycle and Scooter Dealers Association (MMSDA) to promote riding safety.
Launched by the Director General of the Road Safety Department of Malaysia (JKJR), Dato’ Rosli bin Isa, the programme focused on promoting overall road safety for all fellow bikers and riders who had the opportunity to attend the event. The road safety campaign was also supported by other companies and agencies such as JPJ, KKR, PLUS, PDRM, JKJR, Tokio Marine Insurans (Malaysia) Berhad, AEON Credit Service, KHI Helmet, Bridgestone and many more.
The highlight of the day was a complimentary 16-point check for all bikes no matter brand, make, or model. These checks were conducted by experienced technicians supplied by the Kawasaki Exclusive Service Centre (KESC) to ensure that all machines are in proper working order. Those who participated were also given an offer to purchase the Kawasaki Genuine Oil where you can purchase two bottles for the price of one.
In dire need of a new helmet? With the support from KHI Helmet, attendees can freely trade in their old worn lids for a brand new one free of charge! Participants were also given a high-visibility safety vest to ensure that the riders are extra visible on the roads no matter day or night.
KMSB is one of a few motorcycle manufacturers in the country who invests a lot on the overall safety of motorcycle riders here in Malaysia. Apart from this annual safety campaign which has been successful for the past four years, they’ve also started with the Kawasaki Safety & Responsible Riding Course since last year.
Their CSR effort in organising all these is all because of the fact that around 62% of accidents here in the country involved motorcyclists and their efforts are focused on bringing those numbers down. In most cases, these accidents are caused by human errors and carelessness but as riders ourselves, we have to ensure that we are at our level best when it comes to overall road safety.
The Road Safety Campaign Kawasaki 2019 will take place until 6 pm today so head over to the Sungai Besi toll plaza (Southbound) to enjoy complimentary bike health check-ups and other great offers in store for you!
