Modenas has released two more photo teasers on their official Facebook page of their upcoming sports bikes which are planned to launch on 19 May 2017.
The two teasers looked like the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 and the naked variant NS200 with taglines “Power to Race” and “Power to Play”.
Modenas has released yet another set of teasers on their [button color=”” size=”” type=”3d” target=”blank” link=”https://www.facebook.com/modenas.malaysia/?hc_ref=NEWSFEED&fref=nf”]Facebook page[/button] of their new upcoming sports bikes which are planned to be launched on 19 May 2017. The enticing photos of what look to be like the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 and Bajaj NS200 are getting closer and closer to reality.
In the second set of their teasers, the bike model looks a lot like the naked bike Bajaj NS200 with a tagline “Power to Play”. Considering that the NS200 is powered by a 200cc, triple spark, SOHC, 4-valve engine with liquid cooling, we’re getting the impression that this new naked bike from Modenas will be a fun one as the original platform generates 23.17hp @ 9,500rpm and 18.3Nm @ 8,000rpm.
The full specification is still in the dark but we will know for sure in two weeks’ time. What we do know is that the Bajaj NS200 naked bike is priced in India at 96,453 rupees (around RM6,508 after direct conversion).
The second teaser released just moments ago showed what looks like a full-fairing sports bike resembling the Bajaj Pulsar RS200. Combined with the tagline “Power to Race”, it will probably be marketed as a good daily bike during weekdays and a fun machine to carve the mountain roads and circuits during the weekends.

Based on the specs stated for the Bajaj Pulsar RS200, the engine is the same as the NS200 naked variant but has been tuned to get 24.5hp at 9,750rpm and 18.6Nm at 8,000rpm. With a claimed top speed of 140km/h, riding around the ELITE circuit on a Sunday morning does indeed sound like a great way to pass the time.
Other features of the Bajaj RS200 include a digital speedometer, analogue tachometer, dual projector headlamps and an LED tail light. As for the price and full specification on what Modenas has in store for the Malaysian market, we have no choice but to wait until 19 May 2017. For now, the bike is sold in India at 124,523 Rupees (around RM8,407) for the non-ABS model and 136,738 Rupees (around RM9,231) for the ABS variant.
