Refreshed KTM 390 Duke spotted testing out in the wild.
Austrian brand KTM has been spotted testing yet another prototype bike in Spain recently. According to reports, this is the refreshed KTM 390 Duke naked bike for 2017. (Featured image: current KTM 390 Duke model)
KTM has not mentioned anything about the bike just yet, but we can definitely expect the refreshed 390 Duke to debut later this year at either INTERMOT or EICMA before it goes on sale next year.
Based on these spyshots published by MCN, we can see that there are several cosmetic changes. Highlights here are the reshaped fuel tank, the restyled side panels, as well as the new seats and a new rear lighting unit.
Underneath its skin, it appears that KTM has retained the familiar 373cc single-cylinder engine as in the previous model, but we can expect it to be enhanced with slightly more power, better efficiency and, more crucially, compliance with strict Euro 4 emissions. This will allow the 2017 KTM 390 Duke to stay strong against the rising competition in the sub-500cc category.
2017 looks to be a monumental year for Team Orange. Besides this recent sighting of the 2017 KTM 390 Duke test mule, prototypes of an updated 1190 Adventure and a brand new 890 Duke naked bike were also spotted testing not too long ago, with both destined for revelation later this year before entering markets next year.
