The Ripple Relay Malaysia 2019 finally concluded its massive nationwide tour where women riders of all ages and background showed their support to the ever-growing motorcycle community in the country. Supported by the Women Riders World Relay (WRWR), hundreds of women riders gathered at the Sepang International Circuit for the conclusion of the Hear Us Roar Ride (HUR 2019) in spectacular fashion.
The goal of the Ripple Relay Malaysia 2019 is to gather all the women riders in the country and create a very important awareness regarding the limited availability of proper riding gears specifically for our fellow lady riders and bikers. As it stands today, around 20% of motorcyclists in the world right now are women and riding gear manufacturers need to address this void in the market where safety has always and should forever be our number one priority.
Helmed by RRM (Ripple Rally Malaysia) ambassador, Ms Tina Sharman, a Harley-Davidson owner and Malaysia’s first woman marshal for the brand, her dedicated team of women bikers from all walks of life organised a stunning and successful event where hundreds of ladies participated in the symbolic baton relay across the country supported by various motorcycle clubs, even in Sabah, Sarawak, Brunei, and Indonesia.
We’re talking Ladies of Harley-Davidson Malaysia, Desmo Owners Club Malaysia, Bikes & Roses, Momxys MG, Queen Riders Malaysia, Lady Bikers Johor, Malacca Lady Bikerz, Bad Girl Throttle, GIVIBella, Throttle Riot, UnicOn Bikers, Pulas Throttle, Kawasaki Lady Bikers, and many more.
The symbolic Malaysian baton will be flown to London where Ms Tina Sharman will represent Malaysia in the global Ripple Relays amongst other countries that have taken part. It should be spectacular as Malaysia received one of the biggest participation amongst all the other countries that have participated in the event all around the world. Massive respect!
The HUR 2019 concluded with a parade lap around Sepang International Circuit where all of the women riders attempted to create a Malaysian Book of Records entry for ‘The most amount of Women Riders to do one lap in the Sepang International Circuit’. The whole convoy was led by Tan Sri Mokhzani Mahathir, President of Motorsport Association of Malaysia (MAM), Dato’ Razlan Razali, CEO of SIC, and other VVIPs.
The amount of support shown by these lovely ladies showcased their love and dedication in a world primarily dominated by men and the issue of not having enough choices for proper riding gears must be addressed immediately. Huge props to all the ladies that made this possible! Hopefully, your goals will be achieved as soon as possible.
