Yamaha MT-09 bags design award

Yamaha’s new triple, the MT-09, has not only won its place in the hearts of many, it now has a design award to back its cause further.

Also known as the FZ-09 in the US, the model recently bagged the iF Design Award 2014 in Hannover, Germany, by the iF Forum Design. Receiving the award was design and development department chief of design firm GK Dynamics Kazumasa Sasanami, who led the team responsible for the MT-09’s stunning stance.

Commenting on the win, Sasanami-san stated, “We worked very hard to achieve a motorcycle that incorporates a sporty feeling during everyday use by setting a speed range at a lower, more enjoyable level, and a nimble riding position that allows greater freedom of movement.”
