The fourth and hopefully final phase of MCO (Movement Control Order) is now allowing two family members to travel together (in or on the same vehicle) in order to shop for necessities, food items, as well as obtaining medical services at clinics, hospitals, and such.
A new addition in the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures within Infected Local Areas) (No.4) Regulations 2020 has stated this movement in pairs as permissible which starts from today until 12 May 2020 (hopefully, the final day of the MCO).
Pairs are still confined within the 10km radius but if there’s a need to go beyond the limited distance (for medical purposes of emergencies), they will be allowed to do so without acquiring a permit.
One fine example would be if one needs to seek medical assistance and the nearest clinic that can offer such help is 15km away, then you’ll be allowed to travel without suffering the consequences in the forms of a fine or jail time.
According to Senior Minister (Security Cluster), Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, “Now that two family members are allowed to shop for necessities or seek medical services during the Movement Control Order (MCO), they are also allowed to travel further than the 10km if the necessities are not available in their residential area.”
