Ralph Hubert “Sonny” Barger, the leader and founder of the Oakland chapter Hells Angels has died at the age of 83.

  • Barger founded the Oakland chapter Hells Angels in 1957.
  • he announced his own death in a pre-written statement on Wednesday.

The confirmation news was announced by Barger’s former attorney Fritz Clapp and disclosed that he died at his home on Wednesday following a battle with liver cancer.

Barger also made a surprised announcement on his own death on Wednesday in a pre-written statement posted on his Facebook page.

“If you are reading this message, you’ll know that I’m gone. I’ve asked that this note be posted immediately after my passing.

“I’ve lived a long and good life filled with adventure. And I’ve had the privilege to be part of an amazing club. Although I’ve had a public persona for decades, I’ve mostly enjoyed special time with my club brothers, my family, and close friends.

“Keep your head up high, stay loyal, remain free, and always value honor.” He signed the note, “Sonny HAMCO,” a nod to the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club Oakland that he founded in 1957.

Hells Angels gained prominence in 1967 after the publication of Hunter S. Thompson’s, Hell’s Angels: The Strange and Terrible Saga of the Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs.

However, the cultural appeal was short-lived as the group were involved in a violent confrontation with concertgoers at the 1969 Rolling Stones’ Altamont Free Concert, which led to the stabbing and death of audience member Meredith Hunter by a member of the Hells Angels.

Four years later, Barger’s himself was convited on a narcotics charges, resulting in an almst five-year prison sentence.

Ducati has officially presented the all-new 2023 MotoE race bike, the V21L, at an exclusive event in Modena, Italy.

  • Ducati is the official manufacturer and supplier for MotoE beginning in 2023.
  • The V21L is Ducati’s first attempt at developing an electric motorcycle.

Overall, the V21L looks pretty much the same as the prototype that Ducati tested earlier this year.

However, the finished product looks refined, with Ducati adding a touch of colour to the electric race bike.

Nevertheless, like every Ducati in its stable, the V21L continue to represent racing DNA with carbon fibre components and exposed components to show off its glorious grain.

Although the V21L is the Italian company’s first attempt at a fully functional electric motorcycle, you can easily recognize that it is, in fact, a Ducati.

In addition, peak power is claimed at 110kW or approximately 150hp along with 140Nm and can reach a top speed of 275km/h.

The bike weighs a massive 225 kilograms, with half of the weight coming from the 18 kWh battery unit connected directly to the swingarm.

According to Ducati, the V21L also meets Dorna’s MotoE requirements of seven laps on a GP track.

Other key components include:

  • Ohlins NPX 25/30 pressurized fork
  • Ohlins TTX36 fully adjustable rear shock
  • Ohlins steering damper
  • specially-designed Brembo brakes

Also, Ducati claimed that the V21L features a specially-built double circuit liquid cooling system that allows the bike to get recharged without waiting for the battery pack, motor and inverter to cool off.

The race bike can be plugged directly into charge and can reach 80 per cent of full charge in just 45 minutes.

TVS Motor Company will launch an all-new cruiser-style motorcycle on July 6.

  • rumours suggest it could be based on the Zeppelin concept bike.
  • powered by the 312cc single-cylinder engine.

According to reports, the cruiser will be named ‘Ronin’, and it could be the production version of the Zeppelin concept shown at the 2018 Auto Expo.

Last year, TVS was caught testing a motorcycle with a retro-inspired design, but it was so well disguised no known could figure out the styling cues.

However, a recent spy shot reveals that the upcoming motorcycle will feature a round LED headlight with integrated T-shaped DRLs.

While the main headlight design is confirmed, the rest of the bike’s specifications is still just speculation at the moment.

Nonetheless, we believe that the new motorcycle will feature LED taillights, a digital instrument cluster, dual-channel ABS and USD front forks.

That said, the engine of the brand-new motorcycle is yet to be confirmed, but some reports did suggest that it could get the same 312cc single-cylinder engine powering the Apache RR 310 and the upcoming BMW G 310 RR.

More details of the upcoming ‘Ronin’ is expected to surface as we get closer to the launch date.
