  • Ducati Malaysia welcomes six new models for the Malaysian market.

  • The Streetfighter V2 and Multistrada V2 S are among the new models set to be on sale in Malaysia.

The latest unveiling by Ducati Malaysia was led by a trio of V2-powered machines with the likes of Ducati Streetfighter V2, Multistrada V2 S and the limited run Panigale V2 Bayliss 1st Championship 20th Anniversary edition followed by the Streetfighter V4 SP.

Meanwhile, the Land Of Joy welcomes two new addition, the Scrambler Urban Motard and Scrambler 1100 Tribute PRO.

Streetfighter V2 – RM101,900

The idea behind the new V2 is simple, take the Ducati Panigale V2, strip the fairing and boom! The Streetfighter V2 is born.

This also means that the Streetfighter V2 is powered by the same desmodromic Superquadro 955cc engine that makes 150hp and 102Nm.

However, the Streetfighter V2 is in a more approachable form for street riding compared to the Panigale V2.

It also features a longer single-sided swingarm, fully adjustable Showa Big Piston front forks, Sachs rear shocks (also adjustable) and Sachs steering damper.

Meanwhile, braking is done by the same Brembo M4-32 monobloc radial callipers with 320mm disc available on the Panigale V2.

Ducati Panigale V2 Bayliss – RM136,900

The special edition Panigale V2 was built to pay homage to Troy Bayliss careers at the Superbike World Championship.

The Panigale V2 is characterized by the combination of livery and graphics inspired by the 996 R that helped Bayliss clinched his maiden win in the 2001 WSBK.

To better enhance performance on the track, the V2 Bayliss 1st Championship 20th Anniversary is fitted with Öhlins NX30 front fork and TTX36 rear shock absorbers.

The bike also managed to shed off 3kgs of weight thanks to a new lithium-ion battery and a single-seat configuration.

Ducati Mutlistrada V2 S – RM105,900

While it may look like the current 950S, the Multistrada V2 S is a far technologically advanced motorcycle thanks to an all-new electronic package.

According to Ducati, the entire build was focus on ergonomics, weight reduction, and engine updates.

As a result, the new Multistrada V2 S is equipped with the latest 937cc Testastretta 11° with desmodromic distribution and a water-cooled unit that delivers 113hp and 98Nm.

The twin-cylinder engine offers linear and manageable power at low-revs while also capable of pumping greater torque when needed.

Ducati claimed the engine has an extended maintenance interval, with a regular oil change at every 15,000km and Ducati Desmo service (valve clearance check) at every 30,000km.
This is contributed by using new connecting rods, a new 8-disc hydraulic clutch and an updated gearbox that guarantees better precision during shifting.
In order to achieve maximum comfort, the Multistrada V2 S features a 19″ front wheel and Ducati Skyhook Suspension EVO semi-active suspension that adjust the suspensions settings according to the road conditions.
Shorter riders will also benefit from the shorter 830mm seat height and narrower saddle, allowing you to touch the ground with your feet easily.
Interestingly, the Multistrada V2 S also features a new footpeg taken from its bigger cousin, the Multistrada V4 and a 5kg weight reduction compared to the current Multistrada 950.

Meanwhile, Ducati Malaysia also launched the Ducati Streetfighter V4 SP which you can read HERE.

“Motorcycle e-hailing services are not allowed here due to safety issues. They have been done safely in Indonesia and Thailand, but I don’t know why it’s not being introduced in Malaysia,” he said.

Last November, Deputy transport minister Henry Sum Agong confirmed that the government has no plans to introduce motorcycle e-hailing services due to the high road accidents involving motorcyclists.

However, Rosli suggests that proper screening could be done before hiring riders, and such services should also provide insurance cover for passengers.
