Fabio Quartararo extends his championship lead to 67 points after winning his 5th race of the season at the British GP.

The Monster Energy Yamaha rider powered through the finish line with a dominating display despite losing a place at the start.

However, a quick overtakes on Aleix Espargaro, Pol Espargaro and Francesco Bagnaia saw the Frenchman take the lead and quickly widened the gap before crossing the line with a 3-sec lead.

“It was nice. During the race, I was feeling really comfortable. The most stressful part was the starts because you never know if a rider is going to hit you or if you are going wide.

“Also here with the holeshot device was difficult. But yeah, as soon as I made the second lap, I was behind the Espargaro brothers and Bagnaia and I overtook them step-by-step, which was nice.

“I really enjoyed these overtakes. Then my pace was really strong, but I never expected to pull away a second in one and a half laps.

Meanwhile, Alex Rins finally redeemed himself after a woeful start to 2021 by taking his first podium of the season at 2nd place, followed by Aleix Espargaro, who handed Aprilia Racing the first podium finished at Silverstone.

According to Espargaro, he always believed that the team would achieve their first podium sooner or later.

“It’s like a dream! I’m super happy. It has been a long way to arrive here. Step-by-step I always believed in the project, and I work more than ever, so for everybody in Aprilia, this is like a dream.

“I want to enjoy, but believe me, I want more and more and we are in a good moment,” he said.

Espargaro got the better of his brother, Pol Espargaro, who, despite starting at P1, ended the race at 5th place.

In the next few weeks, Italian manufacturer, Moto Guzzi, is set to unveil an all-new sport-tourer motorcycle.

Thanks to Moto.it, we can now see the V100 in its proper form despite not being all too clear.

The V100 will be Moto Guzzi newest model since 2019, with the V85 TT the last brand-new motorcycle introduced by Genoa-based company.

Despite not too many details, we can gather at the moment, we can safely assume the new motorcycle carries a 1000cc powerplant based on the name (V100) itself.

Nonetheless, we can expect Moto Guzzi to reveal the full detail on the all-new V100 at the 2021 EICMA scheduled in November.

BMW Motorrad Malaysia officially launched the new BMW R nine T range for the Malaysian market.

The 2021 range comprises the based R nineT, the R nineT Pure and R nineT Scrambler, which has been updated with several technical modifications, including advanced standard equipment while staying true to its DNA.

For starters, all of the 2021 range is now equipped with Headlight Pro as standard, which features adaptive headlights and indicator lights in LED technology followed by a chrome-plated header pipe fitted on the R nineT Pure and R nineT Scrambler.

The classic appearance is now enhanced with a redesigned circular instrument with an analogue speedometer display and integrate indicator lights that are ‘invisible when not illuminated. You also get an additional USB charging socket.

Moving on to the best bits, the 1,170cc air/oil-cooled twin-cylinder boxer engine now runs even smoothly thanks to technical and visual fine-tuning to meet the Euro 5 requirements.

The engine peaks at 109hp @ 7,250rpm and 116Nm @ 6,000rpm but pulling power levels are now better than before thanks to an even full-bodied power and torque curve, especially between 4,000 and 6,000rpm.

British motorcycle manufacturer, Triumph Motorcycles has been given the nod to continue as the Moto World Championship engine supply for at least three more years.

Triumph was recognized as the official Moto2 engine partner since 2019, taking over from Honda, who supplied a 4-cylinder CBR6000 engine from 2010 to 2018.

Moto2 then opted for the Triumph 3-cylinder 765cc engine, and the decision has proven to be a success with 14 different riders won a Grand Prix race, including 34 new lap records.

With the current deal set to expire at the end of the 2021 season, the 3-year extension will see the British marquee continue supplying the 765cc engine to the end of 2024.

Triumph Chief Product Officer Steve Sargent said in a statement,” I’m very pleased to announce the signing of a new three-year contract where Triumph will continue to provide the power behind Moto2.

“This has been a success for Triumph in every dimension, and you’ll be pleased to hear that we are committed to developing the performance of the 765cc Triple Moto2 engine, and we have improvements planned for the engine for 2022 and 2023.

“So, we hope from that you will continue to see the breaking of more lap records, top speeds, and we’re going to see Moto2 as the exciting racing spectacle that it truly is.”

BMW Motorrad Malaysia has finally launched the all-new 2021 BMW S 1000 R.

The new S 1000 R variants are available as follows:

  • BMW S 1000 R (Style Sport) – RM104,500
  • BMW S 1000 R (M Package) – RM119,500

Enhanced further than ever before, it’s safe to say that this new litre roadster is brand new from the ground up with better performance, handling and styling than ever.

Going straight into firepower, its 999cc inline-four engine is based on the S 1000 RR which offers a 5kg weight reduction while producing 165hp at 11,000rpm and 114Nm torque at 9,250rpm. This roadster is finetuned for greater comfort and dynamics, especially when hitting that sweet spot within the mid-range.

New gear ratios from 4th to 6th gears also further enhances the bike’s overall rideability, which goes hand in hand with more weight reduction coming from its new chassis by 6.5kg altogether. This can be further reduced by another 4.8kg if customers opt for either the forged wheels or carbon fibre wheels.

 

In its base form, the 2021 BMW S 1000 R only weighs 199kg (dry) which makes it the lighter dynamic roadster in its class. From as low as 3,000rpm, riders will get to experience over 80Nm torque and that fact alone is already very exhilarating to think about.

The chassis is also further refined with the addition of “Flex Frame”, a new suspension package that uses the engine itself as the main load-bearing function. This allows for a more compact design which offers the riders to have better riding ergonomics as it allows their knees to be closer to the body compared to the previous-gen model.

Comfort and performance upgrades also come in the form of its underslung swingarm with Full Floater Pro kinematics and a new suspension strut. These offer a better riding feel as well as increased rear wheel grip, which in turn offer greater riding confidence.

According to BMW Motorrad Malaysia, the S 1000 R arrives complete with Keyless Ride function, USB Charging Socket, Passenger Package, heated grips while the M Package consists of M Sport Seat, M lightweight battery, Sports Silencer and M GPS Laptrigger.

The new S 1000 R is available at selected authorised BMW Motorrad dealerships nationwide from 27th August 2021.

Less than a year after its global reveal, the 2021 BMW M 1000 RR finally arrived in Malaysia as announced by BMW Motorrad Malaysia.

Based on what we gathered previously on a limited run of the M 1000 RR will be made available for the local market with an official price of RM249,500 making it the most expensive BMW Motorrad 2021 range.

Build based on the success of the BMW S 1000 RR, BMW Motorrad decided it is time to inject the “M” into the German automaker two-wheel segment.

This road-legal BMW M 1000 RR carries an upgraded version of the S 1000 RR’s 999cc inline-four engine with new lighter forged pistons, intake ports, titanium valves, longer titanium conrods optimized intake system, and a brand-new Akrapovic titanium full-system race exhaust.

This resulted in an overall power increase to a whopping 212hp at 14,500rpm and 113Nm torque at 11,000rpm. With a kerb weight of only 192kg, you can expect some serious performance especially paired with updated suspension, electronics and braking systems designed to conquer the world of Superbikes.

Perhaps the most visible change to the BMW M 1000 RR or M RR is M Winglets and high windscreen that offers significant improvements to the aerodynamics department without compromising top speed.
