In honour of the Manx Grand Prix’s centennial anniversary, renowned helmet manufacturer Arai has collaborated with The Visor Shop and the Manx Grand Prix to create a limited-edition masterpiece. 

The Arai RX-7V Evo, specially designed for this occasion, is set to be released on July 20.

The Manx Grand Prix, an iconic event in the road racing calendar, has captivated motorsport enthusiasts since its inception in 1923. While it may stand in the shadow of its counterpart, the Isle of Man TT Races, the Manx Grand Prix continues to hold its own as a thrilling spectacle.

For over a decade, Arai has been designing special edition helmets for the Isle of Man TT, and this endeavor for the Manx Grand Prix follows suit. 

The helmet’s design features the famous Snaefell Course outline, paying homage to the race’s iconic route. It also incorporates references to prominent landmarks and timing points, as well as the Triskelion, symbolizing the Three Legs of Man.

On June 1, the special edition helmet was officially unveiled at the Arai Village during the Isle of Man TT. Priced at GBP829.99 (RM4.7k), this exclusive piece will be cherished by motorcycle enthusiasts and collectors alike. 

With its limited production run, the Arai RX-7V Evo commemorates the historic milestone of the Manx Grand Prix, an event that has continually pushed the boundaries of road racing. Mark your calendars for the release on July 20, 2023, and secure your piece of racing history.

Edaran Modenas Sdn Bhd (EMOS) has set the stage for excitement among Malaysian motorcycle enthusiasts with the introduction of the 2023 versions of the Kawasaki Z900 and Z900 SE models. 

  • the 2023 Z900 SE is the biggest displacement motorcycle to be assembled in Gurun, Kedah. 
  • the SE is equipped with fully-adjustable Showa 41mm forks and Ohlins monoshock. 

The spotlight shines on the Z900, which proudly holds the distinction of being the first Kawasaki motorcycle with a larger engine to be locally assembled in Malaysia. Both models are crafted at MODENAS’ manufacturing plant in Gurun, Kedah.

The base Z900 is priced at RM43,900 (Metallic Spark Black) and RM44,900 (Metallic Matte Graphenesteel Gray) while the Z900 SE is available for RM55,900.

With the 2023 release, the Z900 lineup receives a host of upgrades, elevating the riding experience to new heights. Both models now feature modern electronic advancements, including traction control, power modes, and a vibrant TFT color dash that boasts Bluetooth connectivity. These additions not only enhance performance but also provide riders with a seamless and connected experience on the road.

In addition to the standard Z900, the Special Edition (SE) variant steals the spotlight with its unique offerings. Sharing the same 948 cc engine as its sibling, the Z900 SE distinguishes itself with superior road holding capabilities.

Equipped with a fully adjustable 41 mm Showa fork and a shiny gold S46 Öhlins monoshock, this special edition promises increased ride comfort and exceptional grip and handling. The braking system receives an upgrade as well, featuring a dual Brembo four-piston M4.32 caliper setup and a new Nissin master-cylinder for enhanced control and stopping power.

The Honda RS150R now comes in Mat Charcoal Gray Metallic colour scheme for 2023. 

Apart from the new colourway, the 150cc kapcai still retain the same specification including the tried and tested single-cylinder 149.2cc liquid-cooled, four-valve DOHC engine capable of punching 15.8hp at 9,000 rpm 13.6 Nm at 7,000 rpm.

Nevertheless, the updated RS150R will be available at all Honda’s authorised dealership starting today (3rd June) with a recommended selling price of RM8,299. 

Other notable features include all LED lighting, digital instrument cluster and all-around hydraulic disc brake. 

BMW Motorrad has set the stage for an exciting reveal, dropping a teaser image on May 30, 2023, leaving fans eager to uncover the identity of the new bike. Speculation is rife that the highly anticipated model to be unveiled on June 6 is none other than the M 1000 XR.

The teaser image features a black-and-white profile, depicting a stylized drawing that unmistakably bears the distinct XR appearance and prominently displays the iconic M logo on the tank. With such clear visual cues, it comes as no surprise that enthusiasts are placing their bets on the M 1000 XR.

Adding fuel to the fire, BMW Motorrad accompanied the image with a caption inviting followers to guess the forthcoming surprise and announcing the unveiling time as 5 p.m. CEST on June 6. The hashtags #MakeLifeARide and #NeverStopChallenging further amplify the anticipation surrounding the announcement.

In a remarkable coincidence, the 2023 Isle of Man TT commenced on May 29, and BMW is participating with a factory effort. Renowned riders Peter Hickman and Josh Brookes, alongside the FHO Racing BMW team, are racing factory-outfitted M 1000 RRs in both the road racing and British Superbikes series.

Fueling speculation further, a video captured Peter Hickman performing a test run at the Isle of Man TT, presumably astride the forthcoming M 1000 XR. Several up-close photos of the highly anticipated machine have also emerged, tantalizing fans who eagerly await its official unveiling.

Thanks to the latest displacement bump, the 2024 Honda ADV160 is finally making it’s way to the US. 

The slight bump in displacement from 149.3cc to the latest 156.9cc makes the new generation ADV 160 highway-legal in large part of the states where it wasn’t before. 

Similar to the one available in Malaysia, the ADV 160 features the same 156.9c liquid-cooled 4-stroke, single-cylinder engine that makes 15.8hp and 14.7Nm. Power is delivered by CVT transmission with final belt drive. 

The ADV160 is suspended by Showa suspension with 31mm telescopic front fork and twin shocks at the rear. Brake consist of a single calliper up front paired to a single 240mm disc. However, while the Malaysian market gets a hydraulic single disc at the rear, the US model is equipped with a more conventional drum brake. 

Nonetheless, the US-spec stil features 14-inch wheels at the front and 13-inch at the rear.

Other important update includes Honda Selectable Torque Control, 30L storage space, taller adjustable windscreen and restyled bodywork which include a wider leg shields. The ADV160 also gets a new digital LCD meter. 

According to reports, the 2024 Honda ADV160 will be available in the US sometime in July. 

Ducati unveils its latest creation, the 2024 Ducati Hypermotard 950 RVE. This updated model boasts a captivating design called the “Graffiti Livery Evo,” which pays homage to the iconic Ducati Graffiti livery seen on previous generations of the Hypermotard 950.

 

Originally introduced in 2022 as a limited edition exclusively available in the United States, the second-generation Graffiti Livery featured a vibrant combination of Ducati Red, white, and black accents. 

The 2024 update takes this design to the next level, evolving it into a more dynamic and visually striking scheme. The motorcycle retains its signature black split tri-spoke alloy wheels, while the saddle now dons a captivating all-red appearance. 

The graphics, consisting of bold splashes of black and white, are accented with occasional red highlights, including the RVE logo on the saddle’s right panel.

Noteworthy modifications are also apparent in other parts of the bike. The upper sides of the fuel tank are coated in an exquisite matte red finish, elegantly contrasting with the matte black surrounding the filler cap. 

The beak of the 2024 Hypermotard 950 RVE features white coloring with artful black smudges, adding an edgy touch to the overall design. Additionally, the handguards, mirrors, and the cowl encircling the headlight maintain their striking matte black appearance.

The 2024 Ducati Hypermotard 950 lineup will consist of three variants: the RVE version with the Graffiti Livery Evo, the standard 950 model in Ducati Red, and the SP version, offering premium features like Öhlins suspension, forged Marchesini wheels, and the Ducati quick shift up and down EVO as standard. 

While the RVE version includes the Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) system, it does not feature the additional performance enhancements found in the SP.

Pricing and availability of the 2024 Hypermotard 950 RVE will vary by region. Ducati plans to begin delivering the RVE model with the Graffiti Livery Evo to authorized dealerships worldwide from June 2023.
