Aprilia has finally provided us with detailed insight into the all-new Tuareg 660 two months after its global sneak preview.

Powered by the same liquid-cooled DOHC 660cc parallel twin with 270-degree crank found in the RS 660 and Tuono 660, the Tuareg 660 gets 80hp and 70Nm.

Despite the detuned engine, the Tuareg only weighs around 186 kilograms thanks to the collective effort of using the parallel-twin engine as the stressed member of the tubular steel frame.

As previously mentioned, the Tuareg 660 offers off-road ergonomics like the Yamaha Tenere 700 with wide handlebars and narrow midsection.

It also features an adjustable 43mm USD fork and monoshock with progressive linkage that offers 9.5″ off the ground.

The bike also comes equipped with a 21″ front wheel and an 18″ rear wheel paired with tubeless tyres.

Other notable features include:

  • full LED light setup
  • Brembo brakes
  • 18L tank
  • Aprilia Performance Ride Control (APRC)
  • traction control
  • riding modes
  • engine brake settings
  • cruise control
  • 5″ TFT display

Aprilia adds two new colours to the range, with Acid Gold and Martian Red joining the iconic blue/white/red colour scheme.

According to the Italian firm, the Tuareg 660 will hit showrooms worldwide by February 2022.

Boon Siew Honda has officially launched the all-new Honda RS-X (known as Winner-X in Vietnam) for the Malaysian market.

Unlike the previous RS that adopts the essential moped looks, the RS-X focused on sports styling and an aerodynamically designed full cowl appearance with dual LED headlights.

The RS-X makes 15.8hp @ 9,000rpmm and 13.6Nm @ 7,000rpm from its Euro4 150cc liquid-cooled DOHC engine, the exact power figure you get from the previous generation RS.

Nonetheless, the most notable change is the introduction of a single-channel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), which allows riders to get a better grip of the bike during various conditions.

Other notable features include:

  • Honda seat opener
  • sealed chain drive
  • full digital speedometer
  • telescopic front fork
  • 17″ wheel
  • 4.5L tank

Meanwhile, you also get a well-designed exhaust that looks similar to the one you find on a bigger bike which Honda claimed also delivers an improved exhaust note.

According to Boon Siew Honda, the RS-X is available in three exciting colours, Trico Edition, Candy Caribbean Blue Sea, and Lemon Ice Yellow, priced at RM8,688.

Ducati was recently announced as the official MotoE supplier beginning 2023 to 2026 by Dorna Sports in Misano.

The announcement quickly garnered attention as reports emerged that the big step into MotoE also signals the Italian firm intention to push for electric mobility.

However, in a recent interview, Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali clarifies the MotoE project will not kickstart an electric production bike anytime soon.

“With the current technology, this is not possible.

“If we were to build an electric bike today, we would need to sacrifice some of the values of our product, like the sporting character and the lightness.

“Or we could do a light sportbike but with a very reduced range. So the idea is to start experimenting,” he said.

Nonetheless, Domenicali insists that the opportunity to provide a proper electric race bike for MotoE will act as a laboratory to study and develop the technology.

“We are interested in using MotoE as a laboratory to study and develop the technology.

“Technology of batteries, inverters, and the electric powertrain is evolving rapidly, and we want to be on the front row to experiment, develop, and be ready when the true race kicks off,” he added.

Interestingly, Ducati’s main objective is to create a lighter MotoE machine as the current race bike is 100 kilograms heavier than the Moto3 bike.
