Kawasaki has updated the 2022 lineup by expanding the Vulcan S range with a new variant.
The Vulcan S Cafe offers a different attitude than the standard Vulcan S, thanks to a bubble-shaped cowl that sits over the front headlight and a combination of an orange, black and white paint job.
It also comes with a bold Vulcan S badge on the side of the tank.
Nonetheless, the Vulcan S Cafe runs with the same liquid-cooled 649cc parallel-twin engine that produces 53.5hp @ 7,150rpm and 58Nm @ 5,650rpm.
However, if you are still in love with the standard Vulcan S, it also comes with a slightly different colourway called pearl Robotic White.
The 2022 Vulcan S and Vulcan S Cafe are available at USD7,299 (RM30k) and USD7,899 (RM33k).
After the global launch back in November 2020, Thailand was the first South-East Asia country to witness the arrival of the all-new 2021 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R.
Fast forward six months into 2021, the litre bike now lands in Indonesia with a price tag of IDR520 million (RM150,200).
The new generation ZX-10R received significant updates for 2021, including new bodywork and engine revisions that are now Euro 5 compliant.
The 998cc inline-four powerplant produces 200hp (210hp with RAM Air) @ 13,200rpm and 114Nm @ 11,400rpm.
Despite the headlight design gained a lot of criticism when an image of the bike was leaked ahead of its global reveal, the overall design was applauded after the official launch.
The new Ninja ZX-10R offers a lot of electronic aids, which includes:
Will it arrive here in Malaysia? Only time will tell.
The folks from Kawasaki Motors Malaysia have been pretty quiet ever since they took over Suzuki here in Malaysia, and even that brand has been under the radar despite all the hype presented on its official Facebook page.
Kawasaki has just launched the 2021 Ninja 650 for the American market with the Japanese two-wheeler updated the middle-weight sports tourer with updated colours.
The (not so new) Ninja 650 now comes with Pearl Robotic White with Metallica Carbon Grey with a shade of Kawasaki signature Green.
However, the 2021 model retains the 649cc parallel-twin engine that produces 67hp and 65Nm while mated to a 6-speed transmission with a slipper/assist clutch.
Meanwhile, the 2021 Ninja 650 now comes with LED headlights with DRL and a TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity as standard.

Jonathan Rea revealed plans to move to professional motocross once he leaves the WorldSBK Championship.
Rea admitted the doors to MotoGP have closed despite winning the WSBK six years in a row.
“To leave Superbike… it would need to be something that sets me on fire, as I’m comfortable in the Superbike environment.
“To consider something else – like MotoGP – I would need something concrete, like a factory bike, and this has never materialised. I don’t think the opportunity will come now that I am 33. SBK is my world and I’m happy. Then after the races I enjoy my little ones,” said Rea.
Rea did have a go at MotoGP in 2012 when he replaced the injured Casey Stoner at Repsol Honda. The rider finished 8th at Misano and 7th at Aragon before returning to SBK duties.
The British rider joins Kawasaki in 2015 as Tom Sykes new teammate and won his WSBK title after recording 14 wins.
Rea retained the title in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020, becoming the first rider to win six successive SBK champions.
According to Rea, despite retiring from WSBK one day, he would like to keep himself match fit via motocross.
“I would like to enjoy Anaheim Supercross. Also, I have a desire to do a national motocross championship race after retiring, probably something in Northern Ireland, like a championship race in Ulster.
“I ride my dirt bike quite regularly, so I’d love to do that,” he added. – GPOne
The Kawasaki Z900 RS garnered a lot of attention when it was introduced back in 2018, with the motorcycle was heavily inspired by the original 1972 Z1.
Last year, Kawasaki updated the Z900 RS with the 1973 Z1 paint jobs, but for 2022, the new Z900 RS gets its unique colour scheme from the 1975 Z1.
The latest generation Z900 RS now sports a Candy Tone Blue base with the gold accent, a straight inspiration from the 1975 model.
Despite the new retro paint job, the updated Z900 RS continues to be powered by the inline-four, 948cc, DOHC, a liquid-cooled engine capable of producing 111hp @ 8500rpm and 98.6Nm @ 6,500rpm.
However, the new model gets a host of refinements which includes:

Just a few days ago, the good people at Young Machine claimed that Kawasaki is planning to develop a bigger version of the ZX-25R.
However, a recent report has confirmed the rumour based on the patent from the Japanese company.
The patent focused on the motorcycle fairing design with an integrated duct to redirect air around the radiator.
Although the image depicts what looks like the ZX-25R, the patent revealed an additional air cooling due to the high-revving nature of the engine.
Since the ZX-25R has a high redline of 17,000rpm, the enlarged ducts would help to increase the cooling factor without the need to increase the size of the radiator.
Moreover, the documents stated the new invention is preferably applied to a vehicle with a four-cylinder 400cc engine hence referring to the rumoured ZX-4R.
Currently, there is no official confirmation coming from Kawasaki regarding the 400cc machine, but since Young Machine made the claim, you can’t help but feel excited by the new development.

Building on the success of the ZX-25R, Japanese motorcycle manufacturer, Kawasaki is planning to develop a 400cc version dubbed the ZX-4R.
According to reports by Young Machine, Kawasaki is planning to develop the new model by increasing the bore of the ZX-25R, changing the piston and the crank and pairing it to an updated ECU.
Although this is purely speculation Young Machine rarely gets it wrong and we expect the inline-four version of the motorcycle will produce higher power and torque than the current Ninja 400.
Despite the ZX-25R already making wave around Asia including South East Asia, the bike is yet to make its way to Malaysia.
Nevertheless, a 400cc version of the ZX-25R is definitely something to be excited about.
It is not a fluke that Jonathan Rea is the world best at World Superbike Championship (WSBK), as he currently holds six world titles.
As Rea prepares himself ahead of the new season, the Kawasaki Racing Team WSBK rider just proves how good he is by smashing the Aragon WSBK lap record on his all-new ZX-10RR.
What other ways to send fear down the spine on everyone else than to show you are looking for the seventh WSBK title.
The British rider was in incredible form during the 3-day test in Aragon, clocking 1 minute 48.528secs, breaking his 1m48.767s that he recorded last year.
The ZX-10RR continues to be the fastest machine for 2021 WSBK as Rea’s team-mate, Alex Lowes, recorded the second-fastest time with the KRT pair racking 333 laps in three days.
It looks like Kawasaki is next in line to adopt the radar assisted adaptive cruise control with the 2022 H2 SX after BMW R 1250 RT, Ducati Multistrada V4 and the recently launched KTM 1290 Super Adventure S.
Kawasaki inked a deal with Bosch over the ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) back in 2019, including the adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning system, and rear blind spot monitoring setups.
However, in a statement, Kawasaki suggests that they haven’t set a date for the introduction of the ADAS system.
Nonetheless, it looks like Kawasaki already has the answer with the 2022 H2 SX that was recently caught testing with the fancy radar.
Based on the images shown, the H2 SX had the front headlamp revised to accommodate the Bosch radar sensor, although there is no significant styling change to the overall design.
The system is much like the Multistrada V4, R 1250 RT and 1290 Super Adventure S, enabling adaptive cruise control and blind-spot detection.
The adaptive cruise control operates by detecting and reading the front vehicle and makes necessary adjustments to the motorcycle distance and speed.
While the radar is visible on the Ducati, BMW and KTM, Kawasaki managed to “hide” it via a cleverly sculpted cover.
However, the recent spied photo does not reveal the rear radar, which usually sits below the rear light unless Kawasaki has a way of hiding it.
Recent reports also suggest Kawasaki will introduce a radar-equipped Versys 1000.
The Malaysian Army has added 180 units of the Kawasaki KLX 250 as part of their assets list to discharge their duties during operations.
The motorcycles will be used as part of the ongoing OP BENTENG – which is an multi-enforcement agency initiative to prevent illegal entry of foreigners, and is also part of the Malaysian government’s initiative to curb Covid-19 infections.
According to reports dated October 2020, OP BENTENG had at that time already nabbed 7,000 illegal immigrants. A further 775 skippers and 316 human traffickers were also arrested nationwide during the same period.
In a handover ceremony held yesterday (17/2/21), the 180 motorcycles were presented to General Tan Sri Datuk Zamrose Mohd Zain by the Managing Director of Kawasaki Malaysia, Dato Jefry Lim.
There was also a special demonstration of the capabilities of the KLX 250 conducted by The Army Warrior Motorcycle Team.
The motorcycles will be put to immediate use at the various borders of Malaysia to help in patrolling and curbing illegal entries into Malaysia.
